They're not a flower I would usually choose to purchase, however, I absolutely love how the dianthus I have used in this tied presentation bouquet look just like little butterflies ๐ฆ
I don't do this job for glory or recognition, but I'm not going to lie; when customers take the time to say "Thank you" through emails, calls, or cards, it means the world to me.
Such gestures are deeply appreciated.
These are my two most recent cards ๐ฅฐ๐ฅฐ
As I've said many times, & will keep repeating, when it comes to floral tributes we are only limited by your imagination & our skills. This pillow shows that even the simplest tribute can be uniquely personalised.

All eight of these hand tieds have been received by one of our lovely customers in the past fortnight; Tuesday - Friday last week, Monday - Thursday this week.

Being the professional that I am, I realised after I had sent a wedding quote out to a bride and her groom that I had used the word buttholes instead of butthonholes! ๐ฎ
Anyway, here's some lovely lilacs we sent out this morning - where I (thankfully) got all the spellings correct!
Just as a magpie is drawn to shiny objects, I'm drawn to the different coloured flowers at the wholesalers; not because I like them, but because I'm curious to see how they look in person. I'm not convinced...
also I think I might be a magpie because I love shiny things too! ๐คฃ
The bridal bouquet we made for one of our beautiful brides last weekend ๐ฉท ๐
Pink Mondial Roses, Sarah Bernhardt Peonies (they smelled divine) White Double Rosita Lisianthus with mixed asparagus ferns, bear grass, ivy, cinerea eucalyptus and a smidge of gyp.
What an absolutely crazy, busy couple of weeks my amazing customers have put me through. I don't mind admitting I'm more than a little exhausted; age is not on my side quite-so-much as once it was!
There are so many photo's of different flowery things I could share but for now I think this pergola we decorated for a wedding on Saturday is perfect.
I am so grateful I got to do this; it was not only fascinating but a real eye opened too.

This image resurfaced on my cloud timeline today. Typically, I wouldn't repost something I've already shared. However, this particular moment was so unique, and since we've gained more likes and followers since then, I thought I'd share it again. So, here it is!
Beautifully modelled by our very own Chris :)

Early last week I had some chrysant left over from an order (sometimes I think I do it subconsciously ๐) and you all know how I hate to see them go to waste, so this time, having seen three the week before, I decided to make a Raccoon ๐ฆ face at least, I didn't overbuy too much!
I typically steer clear of politics; everyone has their own thoughts, opinions, and reasons for voting (which is nobody else's business) and the shops social media should really only be about our flowers. However, with a local election approaching this Thursday, I urge you to pause and consider the impact of your decision on others. Just because an issue doesn't directly affect you now doesn't mean it won't in the future. I'm certain nobody in Fareham Park Road (top, middle and bottom of the road) ever thought local decisions would negatively impact them daily, until it did. Where are those elected officials now, the ones who promised to listen to and work for their constituents, and where have they been, when those very constituents have needed them most?
I know there are many of you considering not voting because you believe it won't make a difference; I hope you will reconsider.
Apathy won't bring about change, but your vote could be the catalyst for real action. Your vote could make the difference between overlooking unethical behaviour or actively aiding and assisting your neighbours, perhaps even yourself. As a local resident and small business owner, born and raised in this area, I've witnessed at firsthand a lack of support from our council and elected representatives.
Our current Police and Control Commissioner is aligned with the ruling political party of the borough. I personally feel nobody should be above the law, and I can't help but wonder if there could be potential negative repercussions or biased decision-making due to this affiliation. Might it influence decisions regarding certain issues that have adversely affected our local area?
Those who were voted in were done so on the basis they were "all about our local community".! My business neighbour eventually sold up, and at one point, I contemplated doing the same because no assistance has ever been forthcoming in helping us deal with some of the issues we face daily. However, you can bet the odds would be stacked against us if we were to step out of line with regards any regulations; they would come down on us quicker than the multi-storey carpark did.
Even if your preferred candidate doesnโt win, your vote really does matter. Please, take the time to make it count.
You know I try not to share our funeral tributes on this page, hence why we have a designated one, but sometimes I just have to. sorry if seeing them upsets any one.
Another beautiful full casket spray - this one was over 60" in length - created for one of our customers this week.
The red roses (Monte Carlo) were a variety I have never used before and were absolutely stunning with large heads and a solid form. The green roses (Camouflage) were slightly smaller but were always intended to take a back seat. Interspersed with them were green santini & a red chrysant, green lisianthus, white single chrysant, red carnations and a mix of foliages including eucalyptus.
Nothing to see here; just some gorgeous pastel shades ๐๐ฉต๐๐๐๐งก๐ฉท
It's that season again... the peonies (whilst massively expensive) are available in a multitude of colours. These red ones are huge and simply stunning.

I often get told โno gerbera; they donโt last and their heads droopโ. Just yesterday I was asked not to include them in an order for this reason, so I thought Iโd share with you some I have at home.
I bought them on the 21st March; they were on โSpecial Offerโ so were most likely already a good few days (possibly even a week) old by the time I took them home. I cut their stems, put them in water and as you can see, three weeks later theyโve not drooped and are still very much alive and thriving.
There are no pins through their necks or wires in their heads holding them upright. Thereโs no flower food (a total gimmick) lemonade, sugar or any other random thing you may have been told to add to the water. They are literally stood in just a couple of inches of tap water. Nothing more, nothing less.
I have completed a water change every 3 days and each time Iโve taken a mere sliver from the bottom of the stem โ this helps stop the bottom from sealing over and not being able to take up any more water. Thats it. Iโve done nothing else to them. In fact, for their first 5 days of life they sat on my bathroom sink in front of a window (do not do as I have done in this situation though. Please always keep flowers away from windowsills and any other source of heat.) the saving grace being its north facing and gets no sun - not that weโve had any sun anyway!
As many of you know, we at the shop are staunch advocates for Fareham Men's Shed and many times I've displayed (and ordered) many items the gents have made... these, however, are most definitely some of my favourites...
They can be used for plants, pot pourri, keys and even fresh flowers - which once ready for the compost heap leaves them open to be reused/repurposed.
You can purchase them 'Ready Made' or in a kit form to build/paint yourselves.
I only have the 2 on display inside the shop but as you can see from the photographs there are many different breeds to choose from.
Just to remind you all the shop is now closed until 10am on Weds 3rd April so I can have a few days 'RnR' (decorating!) and enjoying the beautiful British Bank Holiday weather! ๐ฅด
Happy Easter to those of you who celebrate it. ๐

When I reached the shop this morning, I discovered a small, unexpected surprise on the forecourt: a pile of ๐ฉ.
Irritated, I accessed the doorbell app with the intention of identifying and perhaps shaming the negligent owner responsible.
However, upon seeing the mischievous perpetrators, I couldn't help but smileโthough I remain displeased that they selected my forecourt as the location for their deposit! ๐
is it just me or are these tulips watching me and laughing??
I'm blessed - occasionally cursed - to still have my Mum to treat on this . So many of my customers are not as lucky so today I want to remember all the Mums whose children can't physically visit them with flowers and chocolates ๐ ๐

This week has been hectic, which is why I've been less active on social media than I should be. Nonetheless, I'd like to share a few handtieds created earlier in the week. We're making good progress in the shop with the refurb โ if you happen to pass by at night, take a look at how fab the new coloured lighting is! We remain confident that we'll meet the deadline I've set for November 30th. This means I can start filling it with new products, plants, and whatever else catches my eye. ๐
Just wanted to remind you that the shop is closed right now for some major renovations! But don't worry, we'll be back bigger and better than ever on Monday 16th October at 10am. In the meantime, you can still shop online at our webshop and place orders for delivery or collection after the 16th. Check it out at www.farehamflorists.co.uk. Get excited because when we reopen, we'll be double the size we were before! ๐๐๐
And we love you too drunken doorbell pusher ๐๐๐ This absolutely made me chuckle when I came across it this morning ๐คฃ๐คฃ๐คฃ
My brief was - white with a touch of cream; keep it natural looking (it was being placed on a wicker casket) and add some ferns to it that had been grown by the gentleman who passed away... I absolutely loved the extra effect the ferns gave this spray.

I was about to start this post with "it's another beautiful bouquet of roses" but couldn't get "it's another beautiful day to be Rogelio" out of my head - if you know, you know ๐ Having said that these red roses we sent out on Saturday were truly beautiful. Called Naomi, they may be one of the more expensive varieties, but where costs allow they are my 'go to' rose. At Fareham Florist (Moonstones Ltd - Flowers by Moonstones) we provide a truly independent florist service to: Fareham, Locks Heath, Park Gate, Stubbington, Titchfield, Whiteley, Wickham and the surrounding area in South Hampshire.
We pride ourselves on our customer service (the wonderful reviews we receive give justice to this) and offer the best value for money we are able to. We cater for all budgets (no matter how small) never once dropping our standards. Whether you spend ยฃ3 or ยฃ300, everyone receives the same โbest qualityโ flowers. With over 34 years experience in the Floristry trade, we are sure you will find our professionalism and service is second to none.
How did it all begin?
What started out as a normal evening in the local pub for 2 friends, turned into a merrily drunken evening in said pub, and led to Moonstones Ltd (Fareham Florist) being created. Neither friend has ever looked back since (or so we tell people :) ).
I (Sarah) already had 19 years experience as a florist under my belt at the time, having been lucky enough to work for (and with) some of the best florists in the country, when the decision was made; the fact my boss was selling her business to untrained flower arrangers made leaving much easier to do
Once the idea and rough plans had been laid down, the company set up and registered, the next thing on the list was to find premises. This proved to be not as easy as we thought it would be. With both myself and Clive living in Fareham, around the Highlands Road area, it was settled on the local shopping precinct as our base. As it was, a shop had just become available and 3 more new builds were about to be, so it seemed like the ideal location. However when I contacted the agents about the properties, I found (to much dismay) one of the shops had just had the lease signed and was to be a floral design shop. The difference between floral designers and florists is not that great, but neither of us had the heart to then take on one of the new builds and trample on the feet of the new floral shop owners, so we were forced to look further afield.
Numerous premises were earmarked before the decision was made to move into an old bathroom/tile shop in Horndean village. Had we known when we signed the lease that the layers of tiles we could see which needed removing, had another 3 or 4 layers of tiles underneath, we probably would have changed our minds. However, thanks to numerous cups of tea, and enough biscuits to keep McVitie (other biscuits are available) in business for a decade, a team of friends and family transformed a grotty run down place into a light, bright and airy florist shop in just 3 weeks.
Sadly, although business was (pardon the pun) blooming, the village itself was sinking into decline and the closure of the main Gales brewery only added to the destruction that was going on all around and after 3 successful years trading we were faced with a tough decision; a move to new premises was now a must. And so the search began again.
That is how we came to be where I always wanted to be. By chance one evening I made a visit to the chippie in Fareham Park Road and noticed that the shop next door was empty. This had been a sweet shop when I was at school; I would pass it every day. Often I'd would tell anyone listening, that one day I would own the shop (I didn't know then that I was going to be a florist) so when I saw it was available I got on a mission to talk Clive into moving here. He wasn't keen at first, partly because there is another shop over the road (the one which opened up when we first wanted to) and partly because he wasn't sure the area would be right, but after some intervention from friends and family he agreed to take a look. With both of us living within a 10/15 minute walk of the shop (in different directions) it is perfectly positioned for us. Once we had viewed the premises we knew it was perfect, and within 6 weeks the lease was signed, the work benches built and we were trading from our new position up the road from home. We've been here over 8 years now and things have never been so good.
Business is going from strength to strength and thankfully we have never looked back.
With wedding bookings being taken up to 3 years in advance we know we'll be here for a good many years to come.
Specialties
As all of our customers are important to us and we would hate to alienate anyone, we made the conscious decision not to move into one specific area of floristry; as such we specialise in all areas and cater to all budgets.
The fact that all our work comes from recommendations (local funeral directors, wedding venues, happy customers) is more than we could ask for. We don't advertise anywhere which makes the recommendations all the more important to us.
Location & Delivery
Situated around the corner from the main throng of a local shopping parade, on the outskirts of Fareham, we are often told we are a "Gem of a find" which is great to hear.
While we can never 100% guarantee a delivery time for orders (except funerals) our driver Chris (sadly he's no George Clooney - but he's friendly enough) will go out of his way to be as accommodating as possible for you, to ensure we try to get your flowers delivered as close to the time you require as possible.
Delivering is possibly the hardest job, what with traffic (and tractors - we are semi-rural) and there is nothing worse than when the drivers are having to drive up and down a road looking for a house with no name up, so any directions, hints or tips you can give are always more than welcomed - it also means the flowers spend less time in the back of a delivery vehicle and more time with the recipient for them to enjoy.
