This quote makes me think about my childhood and the one I want to give my girls.

Recently my eldest has become obsessed with the garden. Last year my mission was to grow as many sensory plants and lots of colour to encourage her engagement. You can’t imagine my happiness that it’s currently working. I have such a love affair with our garden I want my girls to have the same.

A fabulous Saturday spent with these wonderful ladies on our Spring Bowl Workshop.

One of the best comments was “now I have the confidence to try this at home’

I love running workshops because of the joy it brings. You don’t have to have had any experience of flowers before. It’s about turning up with the excitement to learn and do something creative. It’s good for the soul and being able to take that home and use in everyday life is the real aim of one of my workshops.

Spring in a bowl

A little collection of some of the spring flowers that have done very well this year in my garden. I was worried with the terrible weather they wouldn’t make it but Mother Nature has smiled.
Spring flowers will always be a firm favourite of mine.
I think it’s to do with the change in season from the darkest and most bare to seeing green and cheer pop up everywhere. Always put a spring in my step!

This April join our Spring bowl workshop ✨

Super excited about this class which is going to be packed full with fabulous spring flowers! We’ll be using environmentally friendly mechanics (including a florists pin frog), displayed in a beautiful ceramic vase - all yours to take home and re-use endlessly.

A Sunday Thought

As someone who enjoys gardening and always has, my love affair has only grown since covid and my career change into floristry.
This morning I’ve spent time planning what H&H Blooms year will look like plus plotting where the exciting new seeds/tubers I’ve recently ordered will hopefully bloom in my cutting garden. This phrase made me smile.
Although slightly daunting as the weather is unpredictable these days and we are about to welcome our new baby girl into our family, I like the idea that someone could know an element of me through my garden.

A festive tablescape continuing the theme of using classic Christmas foliage. Loving the blue pops of colour from the thistles especially against the eucalyptus and olive.
Made using trays and chicken wire.
I wanted to create a warm and woodland feel this year. Bringing the outside in. Sadly no snow but I’m keeping my fingers crossed 🤞🏻❄️

Finally had time to make our Christmas wreath after the hustle and bustle of workshops and a few little jobs as we’ve run up to Christmas. Sweet peas! January may be grey, wet and pretty miserable but with snow drops finally starting to show their pretty white heads it’s time to get sowing. A garden must in my opinion and always a delight to any arrangement, sweet peas are a joy. This year I’m sowing a variety, I’ve realised in our garden we’ve become too samey and predictable so I’m challenging myself to add as much colour as possible.
