I get asked many times by my patients why I chose podiatry during treatment. I simply answer by saying my inquisitive to human science, my actions in life has lead me into Podiatry. I love both arts and human science from early age. I love that human interactions with many people from all walks of life, absolutely love listening to their stories and sharing my stories. This subsequently leads to getting better connections with my patients. I always love that deeper conversations to break that barrier which has been proven to be helpful by research (Kardas, M., et al., Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, Vol. 122, No.18 Sept 2023.
Moreover; I also use motivational interviewing technique in a regular basis to help change the behaviours for informed choices for many patients. I get awesome sense of achievement few months down the line, when patient tells me that they listened , followed that stretching regimen and rectified that behaviour change they have been benevolent from long time. It is just a music to my ears when I simply hear their symptoms have gone with the treatment plan we agreed few months back together. The modern healthcare is all about getting that concordance between patient and clinician. They are in a happier places with increased energy throughout the day and have been pain free for weeks or months. Hence; this places me into even happier places to see my Patients leave my clinic happier, well and pain free.
Have a great weekend everyone. 😊
