We're thrilled to announce our new partnership with Food Friends. Our whole team voted and chose this brilliant small charity to support this year, and we can't wait to get started!

Food Friends is a fantastic small charity fighting loneliness with food and friendship. Their wonderful initiative connects volunteers who share home-cooked meals with neighbours in need of nutritious food and company.

✨ How it works:
1. Volunteers cook extra portions of food.
2. Meals are shared weekly, sparking doorstep chats that often blossom into lasting friendships.
3. Volunteers have shared over 10,000 meals so far!

👩‍🌍 Started in Whitstable, Food Friends now operates across Canterbury, Ashford, and Swale Districts. The initiative creates intergenerational connections, making everyone feel valued and supported.

🙌 Join an incredible network of volunteers and help build resilient communities! Whether you want to cook, share, or receive a meal, Food Friends welcomes everyone. Referrals come from GPs, social workers, local charities, or even self-referrals.

👋 Hey people of Faversham! Hoping you can help us! We are trying to source a display boat of some sort like the ones below or even a sail boat but something thata a decent size. We plan to fill with flowers for a special window display in support of Faversham Creek Trust and the Faversham Safari. If anyone has anything they think could work we would be so grateful 🙏

Can return after the Safari is wrapped up in August. It's a little hot for real flowers in the window this time so we will be using artifical so shouldn't be damaged (but don't want anything too expensive or precious just in case ;)) Let me know if you can help! 🤗

I can definitely see more colourful wedding dresses becoming the norm again... 😍

Did you know that before 1840, wearing a white wedding dress was not a bride's first choice? Although some royal brides wore white on their big day before 1840, it was Queen Victoria’s wedding to Prince Albert that cemented “White” as the official colour of Western and European nuptials.

Before its rise in popularity, it was common for European and American brides to wear a selection of many different colours. Blue, yellow, black and grey were considered practical and elegant.
