The Dried Hydrangea Wreath Workshop was great fun yesterday afternoon.

Everyone made a lovely bespoke wreath & then finished it with a velvet ribbon of their choice.

I’ve some hydrangea heads left so will be making a few wreaths, if you’d like to DM me to be put on the waiting list, I will then photograph as I make them & you can say yes or no depending on your colour preference.

Also these are indoor wreaths as the damp weather now will turn the hydrangeas brown if you put them outside.

Today I’ve some plants to pot on & the dahlias are being cut down & put to bed for the winter.

Friday Flowers sold out in record time yesterday.

This morning I’m prepping for the ‘Dried Hydrangea Wreath Worksop’ & baking homemade cupcakes.

I will also open up my order book for pre orders for Christmas wreaths, Christmas Wreath kits & this year I’m introducing Garlands.

This week they also include a double pale pink lily which smells amazing once opened & has no stamens (no pollen & so dog friendly)

Treat yourself or someone else.

I personally love having flowers in the house at this time of year with the gap between Halloween & Christmas. I’ve saved some lilies for my kitchen island.

Orders I remembered to take photos of from the last few days.

There will definitely be Friday Flowers this week as I ordered from a few new suppliers to test their quality, which was great.

1020 Tulip bulbs planted for Spring 2025.

Of course I’ve planted them in colour order, I can’t wait to see their display.

I plant close together, like eggs in an egg box to maximise my space in the cutting garden.

There’s a little space at the end & yesterday I found some bulbs I forgot to plant last year so may pop them in here if they aren’t rotten.

Just as I was losing the light yesterday afternoon I covered the raised bed with chicken wire to stop the pesky squirrels stealing my bulbs.

See stories they attacked my cyclamen corms & took them out of the containers & just ate the roots!!! All I can think of is they could smell the bulbs in the cardboard box nearby.

Also had a frog watching me yesterday, he did make me jump when he hopped on to the overwintering sweet William.

Today more tidying up & planting out in the cutting garden

I have a little Robin who is really quite tame in the cutting garden.

He appeared after my nan, who I loved dearly & was very close to passed. Yes for the skeptics out there maybe I just noticed him more, but it brings me comfort.

I watched the John Lewis Christmas advert last night & I think it resonates with so many people & the end of the advert got me (I won’t spoil the ending if you haven’t seen it). Ps it does involve a Robin

The saying goes a Robin appears when a loved one is near.

Hoping the drizzle stops as this raised bed is hopefully going to be filled with Tulip bulbs today….

A beautiful pastel hand tied bouquet left the flower studio yesterday.

More flowers have arrived this morning for orders as the cutting garden is almost finished just the odd dahlia, scabious, Zinnia, cosmos & grasses which add a special flourish to my designs.

Then it’s back out into the garden for more tidying & potting on of seedlings in the greenhouse.

Lots of you are asking about pre orders for Christmas wreaths & kits. I’ll be putting these online in the next few days & subscribers you will hear first as always.

Bed clearing today & prepping the soil for the tulip bulbs that are arriving this week.

Think I tried to limit it to 1000 which should fill this bed nicely.

This raised bed was full of Achillea but I’ve moved it to a smaller bed & have lots of plants left over which I’ve promised to some customers & donating some to Felixstowe Community Hospital gardens.

Yes I know I’m not meant to be working today but at this time if the year you have you have to make the most of the nice days & I am seeing a friend for coffee before I start.

A moving house bright & colourful bouquet was ordered for delivery yesterday.

I loved the mix of colours in this one.

Today I’m continuing to tidy the cutting garden & will be in touch with those of you that I’ve promised plants to later on today.

This week seems to have flown by, I’ll also be dismantling the Halloween install at laureate fields today.

Yesterday evening was a private group booking for .pilates for an Autumnal Pumpkin Workshop.

Sam chose a round table arrangement & I think all the ladies did a fabulous job & it was lots of fun.

I do love teaching in a group setting where everyone knows each other, it makes a chilled evening with everyone chatting whilst making.

When I run workshops, if you’d like to book a private workshop you just need to get 8 or 9 people together & we can come up with a date.

A couple of orders to do & then it’s a gardening day for me & then out with friends for dinner tonight.

Yesterday was spent in the greenhouse.

Ranunculus & Anemone corms were soaked for a few hours & then nestled into damp vermiculite to pre spout .

I also sowed sweet pea seeds, again soaking for a few hours & then placed 3 in a 9cm pot covered with a layer of vermiculite to keep in moisture & hopefully deter slugs & snails.

Flowers have just arrived for tonight’s Autumnal Pumpkin Workshop, a private class has been booked & we are going to do a round table centre.
