15 YEARS !!!!!!! 15 very long but absolutely wonderful years I have been married to Chef Matt ( I don’t call him that at home ). As much as I would like to say we’re having a romantic day away I don’t have a romantic bone in my body so instead we’re WORKING. We’re catering for another lovely couples wedding at . At least we’re spending the day together.

Phew finally caught up with all of our recent functions. The 8th of August found us back at AGAIN !!! ( we love it there ) we were lucky enough to be part of Nick and Charlie’s big day. The marquee looked gorgeous with all the rustic wood and abundant florals supplied by another supplier we work with regularly . We had so much fun with their guests and the we loved their menu choices ( please excuse my awful writing on the menu board ) especially one of our favourite desserts vanilla pannacotta. The evening was spent eating pizza and dancing to the tunes played by dj Jason another supplier we work with all the time. The whole day felt like one of our beautiful pictures , that love was there all day. # weddingcatering

August 1st was a wonderful day for Sharon and Matt at which was looking gorgeous as always with their sage green theme. Again it made us so happy to see our menu on the table so their wonderful guests knew what yummy food they were going to receive. Bbq beef brisket , chicken souvlaki and pulled pork were on the menu with dessert of eton mess and chocolate brownie. We love being at this venue so much and being a part of such great peoples important day

FINALLY I’m having a chance to catch up on posts !!! A big thank you to Jamie and Emily who chose us to cater for them on July 25th at the always amazing which looked gorgeous with their pastel and white decor. They chose our Platinum hogroast menu , 4 sides and duo of dessert. We love to see our menu on the tables and loved the great feedback we received from all the wonderful guests.

Eeeeeeekkk we are so excited to be able to post this !!! We are now caterers at an absolutely gorgeously amazing new venue that we have fallen in love with. The Crown Hotel Pooleis to put it mildly BEAUTIFUL , in the heart of Poole a few steps away from the guildhall is this hidden gem. What may look like a cosy little pub is actually a gorgeous hotel with amazing rooms to stay in and mouth droppingly gorgeous functions rooms. We were lucky enough to be asked to cater for a great couple Karen and Ev who came to us with some creative ideas for a menu that we were more than happy to supply. Canapés of fish and chips , bruschetta , falafel bites and pork belly were served in the courtyard. This was followed by starters of tempura prawns , spicy chicken wings and goats cheese tart. Mains were jerk chicken , braised pork@shoulder and Thai sea bass. This was followed by a dessert duo of lemon posset and chocolate brownie. We ended the night serving evening food of chicken gyros and filled jacket potatoes. The venue was styled perfectly by Mood Event Styling and we loved every second of our time there. Can’t wait till we are back there again , thanks for having us .

Yes , yes I know I’ve not posted for ages but we do have a few good excuses such as lots of weddings , admin , school graduations and proms. We were very lucky to be part of a gorgeous wedding at where we provided canapés , antipasti starter sharing boards , mains of chicken souvlaki and dessert of creme catalana. It was a boiling hot day and we got plenty of exercise serving guests canapés among the vines. We had the joy of working with again whose pictures look so beautiful. Thank you so much Anna and Tom for letting us be a part of your big day.

Sorry we’ve so quiet later guys but it’s been a crazy few weeks for us but this week we’re focused on the kids.

Today was our son’s Prom and being proud parents we just had to show off our dapper gentleman.

Will be popping some pics up from the last couple of weddings and looking forward to our first wedding at our new venue The Crown Hotel Poole. Can’t wait !!

Yesterday was another busy day for Sweet As A Nut Catering. It was a 2 function day with a daytime function for a large group of friends celebrating 80 years since d-day at kinson community centre. Later in the day we were back at with another large group of friends and family who got together to celebrate Carole’s birthday. We served starters of tempura prawns or pate and toasted brioche , mains of roast beef , coq au vin or steamed sea bass. The dessert options were sticky toffee or Eton Mess and finally a chocolate fudge cake. Tiff did manage to get picture proof that Chef Matt actually does some work ( only joking ). We couldn’t do it without him and as much as I joke that he just stands around and looks pretty he does work his butt off.

Phew !!!!! Finally I’ve had a chance to pop some pics up from our wedding marathon. 26th , 28th , 29th and 30th May we were so so lucky to be a part of 4 wonderful weddings. We had such fun at all of them but to name a few highlights - Karen and Matt ( 26th ) had us laughing all day and were amazing right from the first time we met them , the cheese tower I had great joy in organising and the tunes in the evening were banging. Sarah and Sam ( 28th ) it’s a first time I’ve been shocked by guests dressed up as fish and the beautiful little bridesmaids were a joy. Jordan and Elizabeth ( 29th ) were the prime example of do your day your way !!! Some of the most beautiful decor in the marquee , a tardis and a piñata instead of a wedding cake. Lauren and Matt (30th ) the guests were in a party mood and they lifted our spirits at the end of a crazy week. A huge huge thank you to all the couples , guests , everyone at , , , and anyone else that I haven’t tagged. The biggest thank you to our kids who put up with us over a busy week , our family who babysat and worked , our staff (tiff , dannii and Zak ) we couldn’t do it without you. Roll on many more great weddings.

Soooooo 16 years ago today was the day I met my wonderful husband. I always joke that he was my one night stand that never left but in truth I think it was me that fell head over heels straight away. I definitely did not think that all these years later we would have 2 wonderful kids and a thriving business. We have 4 weddings in the space of 5 days this week and no doubt as married couples do we will annoy each other and have silly little arguments but at the end of the day we will bang it out. BRING IT ON !!!

So this is our view for the next week , really can’t complain. We’ve been here all of 3 hours and the kids have already been in the pool , we’ve stuffed ourselves at the buffet and I’ve unpacked the suitcase. Happy days for us before a busy end of May. I have made promises to Chef Matt and a couple of upcoming brides that I won’t be doing emails but I’m pretty sure I’m gonna be breaking those promises as I can’t completely switch off but I will try.

It’s been Harry Potter madness for us at Sweet As A Nut Catering the last couple of weeks. Sunday 5th was wedding number 3 for us this year at the always gorgeous where our wonderful bride and groom chose a Harry Potter theme with beautiful centre pieces that really made the nerd in me happy. They enjoyed a gourmet Greek menu of pork gyros , Greek salad and Greek roast potatoes. This was was followed by a dessert of brownie and vanilla cheesecake with wood fired pizzas in the evening. A couple of days prior we were also lucky enough to cater for a hen party which was Harry Potter themed , these lovely ladies had bruschetta / anti pasta for starter, coq au vin / lamb shoulder for main and chocolate brownie for dessert. On another note clumsy me managed to drop a full gas bottle on my foot as we were loading up for the wedding so it’s now 3 times it’s normal size and a pretty pattern of purple and black bruises. I did laugh about it as it’s just typical of me to do something so stupid but I can’t wait to be able to get my show back on and not have to be wearing my slippers.

A big thank you to Kellie and Luke who came across from the Isle of Wight to meet us for their wedding taster today after going to their wonderful venue to have a meeting there. We served them their starter of leek and potato soup , main of roast chicken and accompaniments and dessert of chocolate brownie and Eton mess. And Breath ………. Last night was our 22nd working day in a row and to say that myself and Chef Matt are cream crackered ( I love a good cracker ) is an understatement. We still managed to stay up til 3am ish watching wrestlemania whist also dealing with a poorly teenage girl that still wants her dad for comfort when she sick. We were back at again , where we seem to be almost weekly lately not that we’re complaining as we love it there. Last night was a long awaited and much postponed ( since covid ) family gathering. We supplied a starter of tomato bruschetta ( chef Matt always moans I pronounce that wrong ) , main of coq au vin and dessert of vanilla creme brûlée , berry compote and shortbread. Today has been spent thinking about moving off the sofa but not actually managing it then feeling guilty that I’m being lazy. I have a mountain of emails to get back to and an equally lazy evening planned.

The last two days of our film shoot catering are prepped , cooked and served. Yesterday we supplied Thai green curry , jasmine rice and Thai crackers. Today was cheese , leek and potato pie with mashed potatoes and veg. We have loved every single second but I’m really not used to working this many days in a row so a couple@of days off before Sundays wedding.

What a jerk !!! Sorry it had to be done as today we supplied jerk chicken , rice and beans and crunchy coleslaw to our film crew. This cuisine is one of Chef Matts favourites and he creates his own jerk sauce which apparently tastes great but makes me cough when he’s cooking it. Just two more days of our film shoot a couple of days off then onto a wedding and more corporate food deliveries.

So along with our breakfast and lunch function yesterday we also catered for a an evening hen party at booked in partnership with . The wonderful group of ladies chose our Mexican menu starting with a sharing platter of nachos followed by sharing chicken fajitas with cumin spiced fries and then churros and chocolate sauce for desserts. To say Chef Matt was slightly tired by the end of the day was an understatement which wasn’t helped by the flat tyre on the way home. Onwards and upwards though with another 5 days of film shoot catering ahead of us. Bring it on.

Day 5 and 6 of our film shoot catering all done.!! Yesterday we provided English breakfast and then cottage pie for lunch. Today was breakfast of cheese and red onion omelettes and lunch of Chicken Balti which got the seal of approval from our daughter Joanna. It must of been good as she had two bowls of it and we all know how picky teenage girls are.

Day 4 of our film shoot catering done and dusted !! Today we supplied scrambled egg and smoked salmon for breakfast. Lunch was one of our personal favourite’s , pork gyros. Slow cooked pork served in Greek flatbreads with red onions , tomatoes and tzatziki accompanied by cumin spiced fries. Our guests with dietary requirements received jack fruit spiced the same as the pork. We’re having so much fun cooking such a varied menu. gyros

Day 3 of our film shoot catering done !! This morning we supplied blueberry pancakes with honey and yoghurt. Lunch today was beef bourguignon with mash and vegetables and for the crew with dietary requirements we supplied butter bean and sweet potato stew. The pork for tomorrow’s pork gyros has Chef Matts special rub lovingly applied and is currently slow cooking in the oven ready to finished off tomorrow.

So we have a busy couple of weeks ahead of us !! We are lucky enough to be catering for a local film shoot. Starting yesterday and for the next 10 days we will be supplying breakfasts and lunches to the crew working hard everyday to create the film. Chef Matt is getting a head start on blueberry pancakes and its smells amazing. We will keep you posted on all meals he creates.

Another busy day for us at Sweet As A Nut Catering. We were at the catering unit at 6am this morning cooking pastries for the staff and volunteers that were helping out at a robotics competition being held at Bournemouth School for girls. Then we had a 2025 taster for a wedding booked at and then back to BSG to drop off packed lunches. We do love how varied our work is and that we get to meet such lovely people.

Yesterday was Wedding number 2 of 2024 for us at Sweet As A Nut Catering. We were at our regular venue where we were lucky enough to be part of Adam and Leanne’s big day. We supplied our extremely popular platinum bbq menu to their wonderful guests. We love it when our couples choose to display the menu and their choices were honey and mustard chicken thighs , lamb and mint burgers ( my favourite ) and bbq beef brisket. These were accompanied by green salad , coleslaw , fries and new potatoes in a herb butter. The couple chose to have 2 mini desserts of Eton mess and sticky toffee pudding. The sun was shining and I’m sure the pictures taken by will look gorgeous. Always a big thank you to Tom and his staff at for putting up with us and our girls who worked so hard and my mum for putting up with our kids while we work. Congratulations Adam and Leanne.

Last night we were back at one of our favourite venues working in partnership with to supply a Mexican themed menu to a group of hens. Starters were nachos and spicy chicken wings followed by 5 bean chilli and chicken fajitas and then vanilla cheesecake and the vet popular chocolate brownie with chocolate sauce.
