Farewell to Another Glorious Season!

As the autumn leaves fall and the campfire embers glow, we want to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who made this season at Night Pastures truly unforgettable!

Night Pastures is a uniquely special place in its own right but it transforms in the summer with our wonderful guests, who return year on year to connect with nature and bring so much life and positive energy to our farm – Big thanks to every one of you.

Of course, we must mention our small and committed team who each go that extra mile behind the scenes to the keep the site running seamlessly… time for a well deserved break until we open again for easter.

Housekeeper Wanted - immediate start

Night Pastures is looking for a reliable housekeeper to join our small team with an immediate start.

Role will include cleaning our beautiful yurts and bell tents as well as our camping facilities. Shifts will vary depending on bookings but generally, this is a Sunday & weekday role that needs to be done between 10am and 3pm so is not suitable for those with childcare or study commitments. Occasionally, shifts may also come up last minute so a degree of flexibility is important.

The successful applicant will be physically fit enough to cope with the demands of a large outdoor site (carrying equipment over distance & lifting bins/logs), have good attention to detail and have the ability to work autonomously. A love of the outdoors and a great attitude are also important. Own transport is essential as there is no public transport to our site

Seasonal Staff Wanted (students)

Night Pastures is looking for hard working, reliable and fun loving staff to work as part of a small team at our off-grid glamping site over the summer.

Role will be very varied but generally, duties include:- cleaning, splitting & bagging logs, laundry, interacting with guests and groundwork. Hours will vary depending on bookings. There may also be opportunities to get involved in pop-up catering, holistic activities, bush craft, nature trails and conservation work.

This is a physically demanding role so applicants must have a good level of fitness, sharp attention to detail and the ability to work autonomously. A love of the outdoors and a great attitude are also important. Own transport is essential as there is no public transport to our site.

Do you want to work at Night Pastures?

Night Pastures is looking for a local self employed Forest School leader / Bushcraft instructor to come and run some sessions for our guests.

This wouldn't be a regular weekly slot (although the space is available to rent so it could be) but we're just opening up our Bluebell Wood Outdoor Learning Center and our in-house Forest School teacher simply cant do all the sessions that our guests want her to do! We expect to be running 3-4 sessions per week in the summer holidays

Our maximum class size is around 12 and we are looking to pay on a session by session basis. As we are mainly an accommodation provider, most of our sessions will be at the weekends and mainly in school holidays.

Is there anyone in the area (GU27 3NH) who would like to help?

** Full qualification, insurance, first aid training and enhanced DBS required**

The Bluebells are here and they smell amazing!!!

We have an exciting announcement to make very soon about our Bluebell Wood but for now, here are some interesting facts about Bluebells:-

1) Despite their name, Bluebells can be white! Pink ones are Spanish Bluebells so the pale lilac ones are cross-breeds. Native Bluebells are a dark purple/blue

2) It takes 5-7 years for native Bluebell seeds to grow into a bulb and flower so if they are picked or trampled, it takes a long time before they come back.

3) It is against the law to pick wild Bluebells - they are protected under section 8 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981

4) Folk law states that the bluebells ring at dawn to call the fairies to the woods. Elizabethans used the starch in Bluebell bulbs to stiffen ruffs and the gum from Bluebell roots was used in bookbinding and to glue flight feathers to medieval arrows.

5) The UK has over half the worlds population of Bluebells. They flourish in our ancient woodlands - like the Bluebell Wood at Night Pastures!
