With our new status as Fleetwood Community Comic Con C.I.C., we’ve been busy behind the scenes 👍

While Marine Hall is already secured, we needed to submit the Wyre Council's Use of Land Application for Marine Gardens, which will also be part of the Comic Con (see our site map picture) 🙂

We’ve also taken care of some important details, our First Aid provisions and insurance are fully paid, thanks to Event Management and Training and David J Miller Insurance Brokers for helping us make that happen 🙌

Now, we’re just waiting for our CIC bank account to be approved so we can kick off sponsorships for the exciting activities we’ve got planned and start applying for funding. 💥

On top of all that, we’re gearing up for our first official director’s meeting as a CIC this Monday ✨

There’s so much more in store, so stay tuned for updates and thank you all for your amazing support, it means the world to us 💪

HALLOWEEN Virtual Balloon Race 2024!

Each balloon is £3 and you can buy more than one!
You can choose your own balloon design, with lots of spooky colours and characters available. You can even give your balloon a name and a message!

The race will begin on Thursday 24th October at 12 Noon.
You can check in on your balloon at anytime to see how it is getting on during the race.

The race will finish on Thursday 31st October at 12 Noon. The top four will win the following prizes:

We are now a Community Interest Company 🙂

We’re thrilled to announce that Fleetwood Community Comic Con has officially become a Community Interest Company (CIC). This means that we are now recognised as an organisation dedicated to benefiting our local community. A CIC is a type of social enterprise, focused on delivering positive social impact. For us, this means giving back through our love of the comic con culture whilst bringing people together for an annual Comic Con ❤

The directors and members are over the moon with this achievement, but we know there's still plenty of hard work ahead. Our mission remains clear: to bring Fleetwood the best, free-to-the-public Comic Con experience, whilst proudly showcasing local organisations, groups, charities, and businesses. We were already entirely not-for-profit and completely ran by passionate volunteers and will continue to be so 👍

Yesterday's meeting at Marine Hall went well! We're excited to share that we're planning on making more space in the main hall available for movie props and stage viewers by moving a small number of trader spaces and community groups outside into gazebos (if they wish too)🤞 Fingers crossed for good weather, as we also hope to host some outdoor performances such as a storytime corner, a puppet show and a children's entertainer just to name a few and all with a Comic Con twist to them 🦸‍♂️🧜‍♀️🦹‍♀️🧝‍♂️ This weekend, a few of our organising team members will be attending events with our new leaflets, spreading the word that Comic Con is coming to Fleetwood 👍 We'll be trading with Comic Book Frames at our favorite event of the year, MK Film & Comic Con so we're hoping to pick up some more tips and ideas from this amazing event.
