Folkestone Harbour Arm

Folkestone Harbour Arm Reinventing the English Seaside Experience Folkestone’s Harbour Arm has swiftly become the beacon for the regeneration of Folkestone as a destination town.

Still in the early stages of its redevelopment, Folkestone’s Harbour Arm has rapidly become a food, drink and entertainment destination for the town and its visitors. Originally the railway terminal for the Folkestone- Boulogne Ferry and departure point for soldiers on their way to the Western Front, the arm still embraces the town’s working fishing harbour, becoming a pivotal point in the town’s

future and its historical past. Small, independent businesses along the pier give it its unique flavour, and its reputation is growing as restoration continues along the platform and across the railway bridge and beyond, with the addition of an onsite bakery and brewery, a regular farmer’s market and other seasonal events.

Celebrate St George's Day in the most English way possible. This Saturday, local Brewery .beer will be popping up in The Goods Yard, giving you the opportunity to sample a fine selection of Cask Beers. All brewed using barley grown and malted in the UK, some with hops grown just a stones throw away in Tenterden.

Cask beer is almost exclusively a British method of packaging, going right back to traditional wooden barrels, before dispensing from metal kegs with CO2 existed. The beer finishes fermenting in the cask and the bubbles are formed purely from that fermentation, in a similar process to Champagne.

This Saturday (26th) ONLY in The Goods Yard from 11am.
