We were privileged enough to be featured on BBC News on their BBC South East Today show on Thursday 2nd May, alongside the incredible The Astor Community Theatre in Deal, and the hilarious Milton Jones.
FHODS at The Tower, and The Astor are run hugely on volunteers, and like all local theatres and charities, can always use more donations and support.
Milton Jones is working alongside The Astor to help raise funds for them, and talks of the importance of local theatres, not just for the community, but also for acts starting up their careers.
We at The Tower also believe in the importance of venues hosting new acts and being a stepping stone, and are proud to have given chances to some of our own local performers by hosting their events.
Examples of these are the improv comedy troup, Happy Box of Imps, who have a show with us this Friday 10th May, and The Americana Revue starring Ben Mills, who held their first ever gig together at The Tower last November to a sold out crowd, and are back again later this year.
At The Tower we also try to hold as many community events as possible, like Discobility, who are back with us this Thursday 9th May, local Dance company shows, film screening for our Nepalese Community, events for our LGBTQ+ community and more.
Like all theatres, we rely on the public to keep us going, and we are so very grateful to all our supporters out there, who regularly come to The Tower to keep theatre alive.
If you'd like to watch the clip of The Tower Theatre on the BBC, you can find the video below.
As a Charity, we welcome donations, and if you'd like to donate, please feel free to contact [email protected] - any amount big or small, will help to maintain and grow what we provide to our customers and our community.
If you'd like to volunteer for us either backstage or Front of House, please contact [email protected], and your query will be forwarded to the correct department.
Thank you for your contin
