For Joella 😍
A beautiful wedding today for Joella and Will in Tetbury. Lovely to reunite with an old work friend and so honoured to be able to create the flowers for this lovely couple.
Joella bouquet contained a mix of stocks, carnations, clematis, astrantia, mimosa, lisianthus and lavender.

All the blues 💙. It’s always nice to match an outfit to the bouquet.

The first time trying out my amber bud vases and I’m really loving the sort of vibe they create when paired with the other bits and pieces in this tablescape.
At The Freshford Florist, we really care about the little details and making things just right for your table set ups.

For Beverley 😍
There’s something so beautiful and fresh about a blue and white combination especially on a day when the sun is shining and the blue skies are out.
Beverley’s bouquet included a fluffy mix of stocks, carnations, delphinium, thistles, wax flower, mimosa, nigella, astrantia and oxypetalum.
Congratulations B&D 🥂

For Alice 😍
This was a bouquet that I had been looking forward to creating for a while.
When I sent Alice and Sam the moodboard and colour palette for their wedding flowers my email read ‘I hope the colours aren't too scary. In my head I can see how they will all go together and balance each other out but it's quite difficult to put this down on paper’
So glad they trusted me with a bit of creative free-reign on this one and I think the result is beautiful 😌.
Alice and Sam got married in the Wiltshire countryside on a day when it actually didn’t rain too much, and they were such a kind and welcoming couple to work with - all the best for the future 🥂

Flowers from the garden 🪴 (apart from the peonies)👩🌾
Experimenting with a few different flowers picked from the garden. It’s so nice adding little bits and pieces to a bouquet that you would never find at the wholesalers. I frequently get asked for bouquets that look like they have just been gathered from the garden. Looking forward to using flowers from some local growers for upcoming weddings.

Home grown lily of the valley. Very fitting for a royal weekend as this is a flower often used in the royal families bridal bouquets. Delicate and fragrant but slightly terrifying for any florist working with them as their stems require wiring and they have a very short season 😅

Is there anything better than a flower girl flower crown?
I made this one with statice which is becoming one of my new favourites for delicate pieces like this crown which will be out of water for the day. Statice is known for its longevity and drying properties so will look just as good at the end of the night as it did at the start. This flower crown could probably be dried and last for ages! Statice is not the most popular of flowers as I think it reminds people of dried flower arrangements in the late 80s but combined with the right flowers and foliage I think it can look great.
Can’t wait to see some photos of it being worn!

Happy Easter weekend 🐣

Today marks the end of . Thanks for the prompts.
I’ve been busy with a wedding this week and have missed quite a few of the last prompts so thought I would put the last few in one big post….
Prompt: Whilst I work (music/podcasts)
Love listening to Off Menu or Katherine Ryan’s podcasts whilst I work. Also really enjoy listening to Lindsey from ‘s podcast as she has a very calm, understanding and straightforward way of talking about the world of floristry and it calms me down when feeling a bit frantic.
Prompt: Favourite Make
I made a really last minute bouquet for a bride last year which I think has been my favourite so far. It was small and delicate and smelled amazing.
Prompt: Sustainability
Always important and one of my main considerations when it comes to working out the mechanics for a wedding. There’s no denying it can be really difficult and whilst I’m always aiming to improve, I’m definitely not perfect yet! I also think it’s really important that as florists we support each other when we discuss things like sustainability rather than criticising which tends to be unhelpful. There’s often lots that we can learn from each other.
Prompt: You
If you’d like to get it touch to talk anything flower related, I’d love to hear from you. Feel free to send me a DM or email. I’m also now booking weddings for 2024.

For Izzy and Max 😍
My first wedding of the year and it feels good to be back! Today was a beautiful spring wedding . We chose to use seasonal flowers, reflecting what is growing in our gardens at the moment. I even managed to include some home grown narcissi and grape hyacinths that I planted specifically for this wedding 😀 love it when a plan comes today.
Izzy’s family have been so supportive of my little business since I started up a few years ago and so it was lovely to be able to provide some of the flowers for this special day.

Your Floristry Toolbox. A little project I have been working on for the past few months and am slightly nervous about sharing!
These floristry toolboxes are designed for anyone interested in floristry, looking to learn some floristry techniques and are also a perfect gift to send to a friend as they come in letterbox sized parcels. (Have you started thinking about christmas 🎄 gifts yet?)
The first in a series of boxes I will be launching is this one: Create and Wrap a Hand-Tied Bouquet. This box equips you with the tools and materials needed to create and wrap a hand-tied gift bouquet like a professional florist. The box also incudes access to an online video in which I show you how to create your bouquet step-by-step. The box doesn't include flowers but you can use a mix of supermarket flowers, flowers from a florist or even flowers from your garden to practice this technique.
The box includes: Code to online video, Floristry scissors, ribbon, stickers, brown paper, tissue paper, floristry bag, gift card and envelope
This first box is now available to buy from my website (link in bio).
