Mr Rook’s Speak Easy is a storytelling performance club in Frome, Somerset, that aims to showcase tellers from around the UK as well as local performers. Although it survived as a tradition in other parts of the British Isles, storytelling nearly died out in England during the last century. There was a conscious movement to revive it as an art form in the 1980s and it continues to thrive in contemporary performance spaces. Watch this space for more information.
