THANK YOU!!!! everyone for your patience and/or attempted patience while i muddled my way through these gala ball photos. i know they took a lot longer than usual but it was just one of those things; those who know, know.

as always, the ball is one of my absolute fave nights of the summer, i appreciate every single one of you who popped through for a snap or two or twelve, i hope you like the outcome.

can you make sure to tag people you know and if you'd like, share the photos/album, i know a few people have been waiting to see these and i dont want anyone to miss them.

another fab day at flodden for the ride out! despite the rain at the very end. the views at branxton hill will always be one of my favourites. cannot believe thats the summer over already, seems like its gone faster than ever!

massive well done to miss mollie ker! (daughter of ex-cornet, gregor ker) who at 8 years old was this years youngest rider who completed the ride out.

and to miss susannah montague! who was awarded the trophy for best turned out rider/pony.

well done to both of you!

many congratulations to ex-lauder cornet, dave waldie who once again took the prize of oldest rider at this years common riding. at 83 years old, dave is celebrating his 60th!!! year since he was lauder cornet in 1964.

also celebrating their anniversary years are robin riddell who was cornet in 1974, celebrating his 50th year and gordon gilder, cornet of 1999 celebrating his 25th year.

here are all 3 of them with this years cornet, ryan!

hey everyone! since this has happened a few times now I figured I’d make a post so everyone knows what’s what!

if you are interested in copies of prints/digital images etc, can you please send me a DM/private message rather than just commenting on a photo?

i get a lot of comments on photos and cant look through each one every time in case someone asks for a print. if you send me a DM, i can then send you the info regarding copies.

Ex-Braw Lads’ and Lasses’ Association

ex-bearer of the stone (1974), Graham Rennie, led the rest of the cavalcade up scotts street on saturday, celebrating his 50th year by completing both the lindean and gala day ride outs.

He was followed by William Pate (braw lad, 1984) and Roddy Gladstone (braw lad, 1999) who were celebrating their 40th and 25th year anniversaries.

team gala 2024. over and out!

cant believe thats gala day done already. so much work by so many people and bam, it's done in just a few hours!

i know im the queen of complaining how tired i am and how much i just want to go to bed and dont want to edit photos because ive taken so many but i honestly dont know what i'd be doing with my life if i wasnt taking photos.

i want to give a shout out to hazel, jodie, yvonne, heppy, and everyone else who has asked me to take photos for the BLG this year and all the years previous. it doesnt seem like a lot to most people, just pointing a camera at something and pushing a button, anyone can do it right? but its so much more than that, its a passion and theres so much more work than just pointing and shooting that no one ever thinks about. thank you so so much, from the bottom of my heart for trusting me enough to take photos of something like the gathering which means so much to so many people.

to the principals, team '24, thank you so much for letting me shove a camera in your face, letting me shout at you to look, wave and smile, letting me follow you around and annoy you for hours every day.

jamie and becca: its been a pleasure getting to know you both, watching you both flourish since declaration night has been amazing. you've both carried out your roles today with modesty and grace and its been brilliant to watch you do so. you and your families should be so proud.

cory and emma: i dont even have words for you pair. i love you both to the moon, you make me laugh more than anything and anyone and getting to hang out with you both again has been an absolute joy! cant wait to do it all again for the rest of this summer and next year!

john and abbie: it'll be strange not having you in the six. i'll miss you both immensely. you've been an absolute joy to photograph over the last three years. i hope you both enjoy the rest of your summer and i hope i've managed to capture even just a smidge of your time in office well enough for you both.

to everyone else, your support means the world to me. i feel very privileged to do this photography lark. knowing that anyone actually likes the photos i take is incredible.
