Armistice Day Service Monday 11 November 10:45 AM @ the Memorial Garden, St Mary's School Claughton-on-Brock

An Armistice Day service will be held at the Memorial Garden along with pupils from St Mary’s Claughton and members of Garstang Armed Forces and Veterans Breakfast Club. The service will begin at 10.45 and end with 2 minutes silence at 11.00. Following the service, a number of Veterans will proceed to the Cemetery and lay 2 crosses at the Commonwealth War Graves there. Everyone is invited to take part in both events.

On Saturday 9th November (7.30-10.30pm) come along for a fun and informal charity ceilidh dance to raise funds for PAPYRUS - Prevention of Young Su***de. We hope to raise as much money as possible for this important charity whilst also creating a joyous atmosphere. Don't worry if you have never been to a ceilidh before as we'll literally walk you through it.
As ceilidh bands are eye wateringly expensive we'll be keeping it affordable with a Caller and recorded music. Suggested donation is £5, or whatever you can spare. There will be homemade cakes, soft drinks and tea/coffee to buy and you can bring along your own snacks and drinks.
Do come along and join us at Claughton memorial Village hall for a fun night out of dancing and pitching in to help tidy up at the end 😉. Hope to see you there!

Last night was our very first CineNorth dinner and a movie night where we were able to enjoy watching the miracle club. It was also the first use of our brand new bar.

Contributing your skills and enthusiasm to your local community has a real impact and helps improve how things work and how living in our community feels. Giving something back can build your confidence, make new friends and improve your sense of connection to others in the community.

Claughton Memorial Village Hall is in the process of improving our facilities and planning to organise more exciting community events. We need enthusiastic volunteers of all ages with a range of skills and interests who can take on Committee Roles, organise events and help with the general running of the Village Hall. Whether you enjoy a more administrative role, making sure the building is safe and maintained or love the excitement of arranging a one-off event, we have got something for you to get involved with.

Praise in a Barn with Jacobs Join @ Matshead Farm Friday 28 June 18:30
This is a relaxed social evening with live Christian Worship music to join in with if you wish and includes an interval roughly half way. Free entry and drinks, no booking needed just bring a food contribution for your supper and enjoy the evening.

Claughton-on-Brock Parish Council - General Election Hustings @ Claughton Memorial Village Hall Friday 28 June 19:00-21:00

Voters in the Brock with Catterall, Calder and Wyresdale wards will have a chance to quiz some of our local candidates ahead of the General Election on 4 July at a hustings later this month. Our new constituency is now called Lancaster & Wyre.
Claughton-on-Brock Parish Council will host the event on Friday, 28 June from 19:00 to 21:00. Four of the five candidates standing to be our next MP will be there to answer questions.
The candidates for Lancaster & Wyre are Nigel Alderson (Reform UK - unable to attend), Peter Cartridge (Conservative), Jack Lenox (Green Party), Matthew Severn (Lib Dem) and Cat Smith (Labour).
If you would like to raise any specific question it will help if you could bring them in writing with your name, and hand them in on entry to the event.
