Come along to Gilling East Village Hall for a fascinating exhibition on the trains in Gilling East as part of the Railway 200 celebrations.

The exhibition is open on Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th September from midday to 4.00pm. The Ryedale Society of Model Engineers will also be running trains on Saturday afternoon. On Sunday after their will be a cavalcade of historic miniature trains.

This weekend will see our Biannual Mainline Rally. Scale trains will be running to a timetable from 0800-1700 Saturday - Monday (early finish on Monday!)Tea, Coffee, Homemade Cake, Sandwiches etc will be available in the Gilling East Village Hall. Cask Ale will also be available from late afternoon ish at £3.50 a pint. We don’t offer any rides this weekend but there will be lots of trains to see and watch!

We are gathering items for the Gilling train exhibition on 13th and 14th September. The exhibition is part of the Railway 200 celebrations will be open from midday to 4.00pm each day.

The miniature trains from the Ryedale Society of Model Engineers Limited - RSMEL will also be running on both days.

On the weekend of 13/14 September, we will be celebrating 200 Years of Railways in conjunction with Gilling East Village Hall. There will be a railway exhibition in the Hall, train rides, scale running and also a cavalcade on the Sunday. More details to be released soon!

We had had our previous site since 2012 and it has served us very well until Wordpress stopped supporting some of the themes of the site causing a lot of it to not work properly.

This new site should give you all the information you need to be able to hire our beautiful village hall.
