What We Do
We Stream It was born out of the COVID-19 crisis and the lack of social gatherings permitted. At the start of the lockdown, one of our founders, Patrick’s, mother sadly passed away and the local church streamed the funeral. Nobody was able to log in properly and as a consequence, nobody got to attend the funeral. This wasn’t anybody’s fault, it was just a result of poor technology and a lack of technical knowhow within the church. Patrick, a sound engineer, professional musician, keen amateur photographer and all round “Tech Geek”, had dabbled in streaming in the past and, at first concentrating on great audio results, started researching and theorising how to get the best streams.
When he had mastered near studio quality audio, broadcast to Facebook, he thought, ok let’s get this visually perfect too. To sum up, in 12 weeks, Patrick has utelised 20 years of experience and learning, has invested a small fortune in equipment, and can now stream in full HD with crystal clear audio, which sounds like it’s straight out a recording studio. In fact during a test one time, there was an annoying crackle on the audio of a stream which turned out to be the bubbles in Patrick’s can of Coke getting picked up and broadcast over the stream! That’s how good the audio is.
Our other founder, Laurie, brings the creative spark to our team. Laurie has a Degree in Technology from The University of Glasgow, so is also very tech savvy, and is currently studying Graphic Design. Where Laurie excels however, is in her eye for detail and the natural ability to frame a video or an image perfectly, without having to be front and centre or getting in the way. All these skills compliment each other Brilliantly and create the perfect partnership for streaming weddings, functions and events.
