There are so many marriage rituals to choose from when beginning to create your ceremony from sand rituals to candle rituals. The most important thing is choosing the ones that are right for you as a couple. With a Celebrant led service you can have whatever you like!

One of my personal favourites is the handfasting ceremony. This involves the wrapping of cords, ribbons or cloth around your joined hands as a symbolic representation of your union. When your hands are separated you are left with a lovely knot symbolising you both coming together as one. This ceremony was the birth place of the well known phrase tying the knot.

Adding a handfasting to your ceremony gives you some lovely photo opportunities, allows you to involve important family and friends in the day and leaves you with a lovely visual symbol of your love. 🪢

Did you know February is the biggest month for couples planning their Wedding. Enquiry’s have been really ramping up over the past few weeks which I am very grateful for.

One of the main decisions couples face when planning their Wedding Day is Home or Abroad? ☀️

It’s such a personal decision to make and there is no right or wrong answer! The main question is what is best for you both as a couple and what does your budget allow.

I cover Weddings both home and away to give you the bespoke service you deserve for your ceremony. When dealing with Celebrants abroad you rarely get a service which is all about you and your love journey. Sadly they tend to be ‘copy and paste’ scripts with few details which make your day truly special. With me you will get a bespoke ceremony written for you and approved by you with as many edits as we require to get it perfect!

‘When should I have a naming day?’ 👶🏼

A naming day is an amazing, non religious, way of celebrating your new baby and welcoming them into the world!

A Celebrant led naming day can be as formal or informal as you like. It’s all about celebrating your family in a way that is perfect for you. There is no rules to how a naming day should go so you are free to do whatever you like to best reflect your family.

Naming day’s are an amazing way to get all your loved ones together to shower your little one with kisses, hugs and lots of presents! They are also a brilliant way to introduce yourselves as new parents and set out the expectation’s you have for allowing your child to grow and develop. It’s also time to nominate some ‘guide parents’, if you wish, who will help your wee one on their journey through life. These are usually the people who will be behind your back laughing while you turn on strict ‘Mum/Dad’ mode 🤣

There is no right or wrong time to have a naming day the most important thing is you do what’s right for you. A celebrant led naming day will give you the freedom to create a fully bespoke afternoon with your new family in the spotlight.

The main reason for most couples is to have your wedding your way.

An Independent Celebrant is free from all rules and regulations so can create a truly bespoke ceremony for you, which allows us to write a personalised service fit for your individual needs.

A Celebrant led wedding can take place at any time in any location. Feel free to think out the box to make your day all about you. If you would like to get married up Arthur’s Seat? Then no problem at all, I’ll see you up there!

If you want a wedding that is written especially for you and your partner then a Celebrant led ceremony is the way to go.
