When it comes to wedding desserts, bring on the macarons and mini cheesecakes and cake pops! These are all from our a la carte Dessert Table menu, which means these options are a bit extra because they're tricky to make.
💙 Mini cheesecakes start with a hand crushed biscuit crust. Then they have to be baked in a bain-marie on a low and slow temperature to make sure they firm properly.
💙 Cake pops are a three part process with baking the pops, dipping them in chocolate and decorating them while the chocolate is still soft.
💙 Macarons are infamous for their difficulty! It takes time to learn the knack and it's a real skill!

Happy Friday, sweeties! We've got some important news: our kitchen needs some emergency repairs, so we'll be putting celebration cake orders and afternoon tea deliveries on pause for now.
Don't worry if we are chatting with you about your wedding! We are still here and happy to quote/chat/discuss every detail via Zoom and by email. But just keep in mind that our landline won't be connected for the next week or two. We are definitely staying out of the kitchen while the works go on (*cough* dust is not good for cakes or people amiright?)

Don't get me wrong - we love a good surprise celebration! If you surprise us too with a short notice wedding or party, we want to be ready with space in the diary. Dessert Tables especially take time and care to get ready! We will always try to help if we can. But suppliers are working extra hard right now to get their wares to us and delivery is a bit slower these days. A little forward planning goes a LONG way!
Give yourself plenty of time to book in advance and you'll get our full attention too! 2024 bookings are open and ready, and we still have some availability for 2023. ⌛️

❤️ Our Dessert Tables are actually very reasonable in terms of cost and all cake stands, dishes and the table linen are free to hire. But to avoid 'sticker shock' because you've gone for ALL THE THINGS on the Dessert Table, keep in mind that 2-3 desserts works well for big weddings with a wedding cake and a Dessert Table. A large number of different desserts = higher cost because we'll be baking lots of batches of different kinds of cakes.
For example, 4 handmade mini desserts per person for 100 guests is 400x mini desserts and the cost will reflect the time and care to make these desserts. (Psssst, this will not suit everyone's wedding budget . . .) Please don't forget that every detail can easily be adjusted, so don't be shy about sharing your budget with us. We are here to help!

Buttercream is a combination of butter and sugar whipped together to make it smooth and spreadable. Fondant is a combination of powdered sugar, water and glycerine to make a paste that can be rolled thinly. Sweet Everythings' wedding cakes are all made with my beautiful special recipe buttercream and chocolate ganache. You'll find that most bakers use fondant to cover their wedding cake and make elaborate sugar figurines. But I've learned to stick with my skillset over the years and work mainly with buttercream, which I absolutely love. Buttercream is rich and full of flavor, delicious and creamy. Our beautiful and modern American-style cakes and bakes are made by hand and taste just as delicious as they look. We only use milk and butter from a local Scottish dairy, sugar from the UK, eggs from happy, free-range hens and chocolate that is mostly pure cacao, so it's fairtrade and sustainably sourced. The cake toppers on our cakes are made by a young creative small business in Ayrshire. Our custom sprinkles are made by a small business in Edinburgh. The flour in your cake comes from a mill in the UK that's been running since 1824.
