in 1920, Rita Cowan of Kirkintilloch married Masataka Taketsuru from Japan. The couple left to live in Japan in the November of that year and later set up Nikka Whisky. You can see this kimono which belonged to Rita on display in the Heritage Centre upstairs at Kirkintilloch Town Hall or follow the link to watch a video by content creator Ruth when she visited previously.

The EDLC Libraries 3D printer has been hard at work all Easter Weekend, printing over 30 PPE visors for healthcare workers (transparent face shield still to be attached). We're working to get these to the people that need them, and we will continue to print until we run out of supplies.

Our CEL Robox 3D printer was kindly gifted by The Scottish Library & Information Council a few years ago. We run monthly 3D designing and printing sessions, and look forward to hosting more when our libraries reopen.
