Finally posting some fabulous pictures of my absolutely gorgeous cousin Lisa and her husband Neil’s wedding at Mar Lodge - this was just such a privilege to be part of and I was so honoured that Lisa trusted me to do her makeup on such a momentous occasion. From the birthday BBQ the evening before, to the unbelievable ceilidh by to the warmth of all the gorgeous family and friends all the way from the US - this was the best wedding ever!! Also I can no longer listen to this song without crying 😬😭

This is a real bride, not a Vogue editorial. I know right??

It was such a pleasure to look after Shazia and her lovely family at last month with my amazing colleague and pal on the gorgeous bridal party hair.

Shazia lives in Toronto and came in for a trial way back, and while we pretty much nailed the beautifully simple and contoured makeup look, she was initially thinking she wanted something a bit more for the hair - but I recognised that a simple, sleek, clean girl bun was going to suit her perfectly and let the dress - and the cheekbones! - do the talking.

Lots of trial and product info!

T A R A looking glowing, radiant, modern and just generally the epitome of a gorgeous bride ready to get married! She is also now officially my bride that was ready earliest - a whopping 62 (ish) minutes before the ceremony time! Was a pleasure to help her, Heather and her mum Alison get ready in Glasgow before travelling with them to for touch ups and the all important veil!

When Tara sent back her consultation form and pictures, we had a bit of working out exactly what she was after, as so many pictures on Pinterest and Instagram are so filtered or has makeup that looks incredibly dramatic - which if you don’t wear a tonne of makeup usually, can give you a bit of a fright at the trial, even if it’s less makeup than these pictures! So, if you’re looking for something similar to Tara for your wedding day makeup, my advice would be to advise your artist (or me!) that you’d like a bronzed, radiant base, a bronzey eye with smokey definition at the outer corners, full wispy lashes and a pale n**e-pink lip.

Was delighted to be asked to do hair and makeup for this gorgeous, cosy and warm (warm looking - it absolutely wasn’t warm 😭) shoot with an incredibly talented bunch of amazing suppliers a few weeks ago. We took inspo directly from Ms for the vibe and the look; I love doing shoots like this which can showcase that your wedding is really all about you and your style, whatever it is - I want to know so I can help you achieve it!

First wedding of the year! ✅ A gorgeous wee winter wedding between Arianna and Moustafa in Glasgow at and .

Arianna wore a gorgeous emerald green velvet dress and went for glowing, natural makeup with her trademark winged liner, with her (amazing) hair loosely pinned in curls - a bridal version of the popular 90s Pamela Anderson do.

Loved spending time with Arianna’a Italian family on the wedding morning - my own Italian heritage proved v useful when I could understand that ‘mare’ meant ‘sea’ 😬🤌🏼

Some November 5th fireworks from Elina and Calum’s wedding to cheer you up on a dreary Monday! Winter weddings are way more popular now than when I started out about a decade ago - and if you’re still wedding planning, they’re worth considering! For one, you may get cheeky discounts here and there, and us suppliers usually have better availability…plus who doesn’t love a party when the nights get longer!?

Ida - the epitome of cool, and stylish, and beautiful, and FUN!

Any wedding that blends Scottish and Finnish traditions is going to be a goodie - love these shots from (who travelled all the way from the Hebrides to capture the wedding at !)

Love Ida’s gorgeous bow - when she came for her trial which was the same week as the wedding, we realised we needed some extensions added to get her ponytail looking perfect and full, so Sally Services delivered the perfect locks just in time! If you think you might need extensions, you can let me know ahead of time so we can check what your ideas are, and I’ll guide you to the best suppliers - don’t be scared of them! They make a huge difference and getting them in is my problem 😉

It’s awards season! The perfect time to look outside of Pinterest for some makeup and hair inspo.

There were SO many good looks from the Golden Globes last night, so many in fact that there will be a few posts - some showcasing more ‘maximalist’ looks, and others that are maybe a little softer and more muted - all beautiful!

It definitely seems like after a few years of pretty neutral makeup, colour is BACK - which is always exciting for us makeup artists.

First up - Erika Alexander looked like a breath of fresh air with her colourful braided updo and lilac eyes that matched her gown in a modern way. Her fresh skin is luminous and while this is glam makeup, it’s balanced and harmonious- her hair, makeup and dress aren’t competing for our attention. 12/10!

Ariana Greenblatt’s dark eye was a standout - giving a nod to 90s grunge in a sea of Barbie pink. Keeping the lips n**e and glossy and the base fresh and matte keeps it looking haute couture - also check that glazed donut French mani!

Da’Vine Joy Randolph looks stunning in a glossy wine lip and shimmering tones of mauve and purple on the eyes. Perfectly full brows and subtle contouring and highlighting add a perfect amount of structure to her face, and the black winged liner is quietly bold.

Elizabeth Olsen’s red lip and pink eye combo is quite surprising at first - but wearing white lets her pull this colour combo off. The lip has a sheen which keeps the red less bold than a matte finish, and while the eyeshadow is pink, it’s grounded by the black mascara and tightline which stops it looking ‘rabbity’!

Amanda Seyfried is a girl who knows how to make colour theory work for her. That gorgeous purple eye brings out her green eyes beautifully (red based purples = opposite of green, hence contrast!) and compliment that bow! Seyfried is a Lancôme ambassador so use the palette 06 in reflet d’amethyste for a perfect match.

Janelle James’ makeup looks pretty straightforwardly glam to begin with - but check that lower lash line! A gorgeous chartreuse green liner is used to smudge out the lash line and match with her gown to excellent effect. This is a great way to experiment with colour.

Throwback Thursday to Taryn (because I love alliteration ✌🏼) - a city centre wedding done oh so right.

Taryn had the most beautiful blonde hair that so suited this textural up do - if you’re looking for something similar, be aware that hair that is darker doesn’t look quite as dimensional, so I always recommend looking at pictures where people have your colouring, to see if you think it will suit you.

Please read! - HAPPY NEW YEAR!! To all my 2024 brides - it’s your wedding year!! Congratulations also to those of you who are newly engaged (and if you know anyone who is, please tag them!) - now begins the fun of wedding planning!

January is a downtime (usually) for makeup artists and the wedding industry in general - hence I’m over in Athens for the month doing what I usually do (emails/admin/tax return 😭) but just in a sunnier and less dreich climate. I may pop up content here or on my TikTok (same user name) if anyone is interested!

If you have still to do book in your trial please message me this month as my year is really filling up and some trial days are fully booked in the next couple of months.

My 2025 and 2026 diaries are open and filling up - prices are available for both years just now, subject to increase in April 2024.

If you’ve any pics lurking of your own wedding where I did hair and/or makeup - please send me your galleries! Caroline’s whole style knocked me out - just look at this!

I love getting to know my brides and their stories, and as Caroline came in for two trials, we had the chance to really assess and think about what we wanted to do for her wedding day - such as trialling this gorgeous hair look with and without extensions (this is without. I know. 😭 the hair envy is real). We also tried a heavier eye and it just wasn’t clicking, so on the day we used some of Caroline’s favourite eyeshadows and created an enhanced, elevated version of her go to makeup. Don’t think you need to go totally outside your comfort zone for your wedding day - and remember, your glam squad should be collaborating with you to create your wedding day look, as it’s definitely not one size fits all.

Loved working with my actual real life pal .bloomin.gathered and one of my faves who did the rest of the bridal party’s hair, and lovely to see Vicki at .co who captured this day so magnificently.
