The smaller candles represent the individuals getting married and their separate lives, families, and experiences.
The larger pillar candle symbolises the unity of these two lives in marriage.
Oftentimes, if there are family or people close to the couple who have passed away, or whom are unable to attend on the day, we mention that the candle burns throughout the ceremony in their memory or to symbolise their willingness to have been there which is a comforting moment for everyone.
The unity candle ceremony is rich with symbolism and meaning. It emphasises the importance of unity and the blending of two lives into one. This ritual also honours the role that family and community play in the couple's journey together in life.

Do I have to memorise my vows?
Not at all, you donโt have to memorise either your legal vows or your personal vows, unless you want to of course! ๐
Your legal vows you repeat line by line after us and we keep you right! Your personal vows we can help you with too!
We are happy to cast an eye over your personal vows and give you guidance on writing them. We will also print them out for you and have them ready at the right moment to hand to you too if you like.
Some couples prefer to have their vows printed into little keepsake books, or handwrite them to have with them. The choice is completely up to you ๐ค
We are here to talk you through what happens during your vows, when we do them during the ceremony and most importantly why!
Legal vows we must do as part of a legal marriage ceremony, but personal vows are just that, and the choice to do them is completely yours!
Get in touch to chat it all through with our team of professional celebrants at www.fuzeceremonies.co.uk

It is typically made of wood, pewter, silver, or more recently, stainless steel, and is characterised by its shallow, bowl-like shape and two handles which make it ideal for sharing! The design of the quaich is not just functional but also symbolic, representing friendship and trust. The quaich has a rich history in Scottish culture. It became especially popular during the 17th century as a way to share a drink of whisky or brandy in a communal and ceremonial manner. The act of drinking from a quaich signifies openness and hospitality, as the two-handed design implies that the drinker cannot simultaneously hold a weapon! Here are some reasons and ways it might be included in modern weddings: The bride and groom can drink their favourite tipple from the quaich together, symbolising their union and the sharing of their lives.
