Blushing Brides Scotland

we had our beautiful wedding day on August 10th and I cannot speak highly enough of every single one of our vendors. We hired a DIY venue so had to source all of our own talent, and they all absolutely exceeded every expectation. I’ve popped them all below & genuinely cannot recommend them all enough, they all went completely above and beyond.
If you’re thinking about doing a DIY wedding, do it. Our day was so perfect, not 1 single thing went off plan, it was everything we wanted, completely personal and extra special knowing we did it all ourselves.
Venue: Harburn Barn (West Calder) - DIY venue with accommodations attached and nearby in Harburn estate
Humanist:
John Tonner, Humanist Celebrant with Fuze Ceremonies. John captured our story in the most perfect way, and told it to our guests in a way that was heartfelt and also funny. He listened to exactly what we wanted and delivered perfectly. We did our own personal vows, he mic’d us up and everyone heard everything very clearly. He made our ceremony completely about us which is exactly what we wanted. I’m so glad we found John.
Catering:
Top Class Catering Glasgow- absolutely unbelievable. The food was insane, the bar service was amazing- they created a physical bar for us within our venue as well which helped so much. I wanted to dress my own tables so they provided us with the table cloths a few weeks in advance which was so helpful. The packages they offer are amazing value for money, they provide all the required staff who were all so professional, kind & helpful on the day.
DJ :
DJ Stephen Bennett (& assistant). Stephen made our day what it was; a complete party from start to finish. The extra touches he added in to our day made it so much fun & all of our guests commented on how amazing him and his assistant were. His communication and professionalism throughout the entire process is unmatched. As we had a DIY wedding, Stephen very kindly acted as our master of ceremonies as well. He and our catering team worked together to arrange our timeline of the day and everything ran so seamlessly
Guitarist/singer:
Conall Adam. I saw Conall playing at a pub years before I was even engaged and asked him then if he would sing at my wedding, as soon as I got engaged I messaged him and he agreed to do it. Ours was his first wedding but you’d never have known, he was absolutely brilliant. He plays pubs & gigs at the Edinburgh fringe as well so his confidence and range is unbelievable. He played for us during cocktail hour, and again during the dinner time turnover and it was a great way to ensure guests were entertained.
Piper :
Robin Hay - Scottish Piper. I cannot fault Robin one bit, he came and absolutely smashed it. His communication through the booking process was top tier as well, he played beautifully and listened to exactly what we wanted.
Photography team: Leanne Heron & Jamie Stone. I don’t even know where to begin with these two. I knew from their instagram pages that their candid style was perfect for us, but I was not prepared for these two unbelievably talented people to not only capture our day so perfectly, but also bring so much fun on the day. I got ready in the morning with Leanne and I felt like I was getting ready with a friend. My husband had Jamie with him and his groomsman and has said exactly the same thing. Our pictures have exceeded every expectation we could’ve had, as you can see from the ones I’ve attached. I can’t speak highly enough of these two and I’m already thinking of reasons I can use them again in future
Videographer: Kev Meenan Kev Meenan Films. We weren’t sure if we wanted a videographer at first but it was one of the best decisions we made. Kev is unbelievable. We’ve only seen our preview so far but everyone who has watched it has cried. He captured every emotion and every moment beautifully. The drone footage as well is so unique which we loved and you genuinely hardly noticed he was there. Such a talented and friendly individual who we cannot speak highly enough of. If you’re debating whether or not to hire a videographer; this is your sign, but only if you book Kev!
Flowers & decor: I did all of this myself. All the flowers, decoration, centrepieces, welcome sign etc was done by me. We didn’t bother to hire any dressing companies or wedding planners either as I knew my vision could come to life beautifully in this venue.
