Last September was lucky enough to travel Uganda and it was during this trip I met the most adorable group of inspirational children I have ever met. They live in a town called Kabale, in an orphanage. In actual fact, the orphanage is run and maintained by my guide Isaac who was taking care of me in Uganda. He worked as a tour guide so he could provide for the children and is a graduate of social sciences. During the pandemic and during low tourist seasons, life gets very challenging for them. Believe me as I’ve seen it with my own eyes. Droughts and lack of basic amenities causes havoc and these little children suffer inexplicably. Not only do they have to overcome their disabilities, they struggle for basic necessities that we take for granted every day.
I’m sure we all get requests for money donations all time and I really hope this request gets a look in. Simply because this is no ordinary orphanage, it specifically looks after children with special care needs and for children who are not able bodied.
I know every single penny will make a huge difference and make their lives a little bit more bearable.
