IYENGAR YOGA - New Class Starting Jan 6th 2025!

Join Iyengar Yoga teacher SEAN BURROWS for a class suitable for beginners & experienced students alike, followed by a shared practice to music for those with an established yoga practice.

Classes start on Monday 6th January, 2025

Iyengar Yoga Class for all
Monday evenings
6.15-7.45pm

Shared practice with yogic music in the spirit of sharing & community
Monday evenings
8.15-9.45pm

All classes are £10 cash on the door.

NEW IYENGAR YOGA CLASS in 2025 !

We're excited to announce that another new weekly class is being added to our schedule in 2025:

- Iyengar Yoga

With the gentle Sean Burrows.

More info coming soon, but if you'd like a class with a focus on alignment, sequencing and timing and the deep holding of postures with support - blocks, blankets & straps - as appropriate - this is the one for you.

Classes will be on Monday evening starting on January 6th, from 6/6.30pm (tbc) and include a guided class as well as shared practice time with soft, sacred music as a backdrop.

Hello Dear Friends & Followers..

most of the fabulous events we host here are closed week-long or weekend retreats, created and promoted by individual facilitators to their existing customer base.

In the past year we have also been adding more regular mid-week bookings that are open to all and we gladly share information about these, as well as the specialised retreats when requested.

Currently on our weekly calendar and open to all are:

- TUESDAY evening - Yoga for Men - with Christoff, 6-7pm (No classes Dec 17-31st)

- WEDNESDAY morning - Flow Yoga - with Jess Dane, 10.30-11.45am (last class for this year November 27th. Class re-starts for another 8-week series on January 8th, 2025).

- THURSDAY evening - Dance of Creation (Women only) - with Kate Sky Dancer, 7-8.30pm (current series ends November 28th)

and next year we are looking forward to adding a weekly Iyengar yoga class to the schedule ! More on that soon....

It's always heart-warming to receive feedback like this from our clients.

We put a lot of effort into creating and maintaining an impeccable space here at The Gables, because that's our way of supporting the flow of beautiful, conscious events here in Avalon.

In the last couple of weeks our magnificent gardener, Tabitha, has cleared & re-planted all our pots, so we have colour and beauty around the studio for winter, we've purchased some new jewel-toned fleecy blankets to add to our supply and are starting to replace our backjacks.

Meanwhile, Verity our cleaner, assistant and woman Friday has kept all the spaces shiny and pristine with care and sensitivity.

And this Friday, a persistent leak into the shower room is being fixed by some expert builders. (Just as well with all this wet weather !!)

Over the summer months we also replaced the wooden stairs connecting the mid to lower patio area and bought a gazebo that can be used for al fresco dining.

Meanwhile, our other gardener, Martin, has patiently been cultivating a labyrinth on the west side of the lawn :-)

It takes a dedicated team of us and constant investment to create the beautiful space you walk into and it's clear to us that cleanliness and order, as well as the energy with which everything is done really does make a difference to how you feel when you are here.

MOVEMBER & YOGA FOR MEN with Christoff !

We are very happy to support Christoff, our resident yoga teacher on a Tuesday evening, and his inspiration to raise funds for the fabulous charity - MOVEMBER - during the month of November.

Read on for Christoff's invitation:

November, aka Movember, is around the corner and although growing a moustache doesn't come naturally to all of us (by which I mean me), it shouldnt stop us getting involved with men's health.

During November all classes will be by donation/'pay what you can' with all proceeds going to the Movember charity who do amazing work funding, amongst others things, prostate and testicular cancer research, mental health training and su***de prevention.

We're a small, supportive group of men who practice together in a led class. It's a great space to just hangout and be comfortable moving your body whether you're new to yoga or have an established practice already.

With a healthy mix of traditional postures and mobility exercises and through syncing movement with breath its good for both mental and physical wellbeing while increasing stability, flexibility and strength.

So why not come along for some mindful movement every Tuesday 6-7.15pm
