After a few years off, the Partington Players once again took part in the GMDF (Greater Manchester Drama Federation) Full Length Play Festival this season, with fantastic results. There are 43 amateur societies within the GMDF so to recieve any nomination is always a good result. In their first year back the Players have picked up a massive 10 nominations! A huge congratulations to all involved. Now it's an even greater waiting game as the awards night is not until August. We will let you know how it goes.

We must all do theatre; for some a terrifying prospect. But if you have ever fancied treading the boards or helping backstage, and need just that extra push, join us in the Clubroom at Partington tomorrow evening as we discover which plays have been picked for the Partington Players 2024/2025 Season. There will be fun and laughter, mystery and intrigue as we look at each of the plays picked as we listen to the directors thoughts on their chosen play. There will also be opportunity to find out how you can get involved next season, on stage, or behind.

Ladies' Day is coming up and as it is a special production we are holding a VIP Fundraising Gala!

Friday 28th June, in addition to watching the Partington Players 400th production, you also have the opportunity to attend the VIP Gala, with a red carpet reception and fizz reception, canapes, sweet treats and more.

All monies raised will go towards the Partington Renovation Fund, which supports the upkeep of our beautiful Grade II Listed building, and eventually will help us to make the much needed improvements required to make the building more accessible.

Tickets cost £25 and are and ADD-ON to the play ticket. You need to purchase both. For season ticket holders or those who have already bought tickets for the show and wish to join us for the VIP event, please purchase the VIP ticket separately, or email the office for assistance via [email protected].

On this very special anniversary of the D-Day Landings, celebrating 80 years since the liberation of troops from the beaches of Normandy, we remember all those who have, and continue to, serve in our armed forces.

In celebration of the D-Day Landings we have a very special guest performer at Partington Theatre this Saturday, the one and only Veterans Sweetheart, 'Our Sarah'. Sarah Dennis was awarded the Veterans Sweetheart title in 2014 and endorsed by the late Dame Vera Lynn for her performances at major remembrance events across the Nation, and for her unwavering support of military veterans’ charities

Partington Players are back with their 400th Production in our towns only live theatre. The cast are firmly getting to know the plot, their characters and are really looking forward to telling the story of four fish packers as they head to Ladies' Day at York Races.

As this is a special production (it's not every day one celebrates ones 400th production!) The theatre will be hosting a VIP Gala night on Friday 28th. VIP guests will be treated to a red carpet fizz reception followed by canapes in the VIP area. During the interval VIP guests will have access to the VIP area along with more fizz and sweet treats. Please note: the VIP Gala tickets are an ADD-ON, guests will also need a Friday night theatre ticket.

Massive shout out and thank you to everyone who volunteered and who came down to Partington Theatre over the Glossop Heritage Weekend. We have had such a fabulous time, with the Mess Hall Cafe being run off their feet and the free shows during both days being an absolute hit. The Courage to Continue event on Saturday night was a wonderful reminiscence of the part Glossop played in WW2.

What a fantastic way to spend the weekend. Now we will start planning for the next one!

🎭Courage to Contiune🎭
A Night of Stories, Memories and Reminiscences, with Matthew Cox.

Saturday 1st June, 7:30pm, part of Partington Theatre's Heritage Weekend events.

Join us as we delve into the rich history of our towns contribution to the Second World War. Our show brings to life personal accounts, stories and secrets through word, song and music.

This will be an evening of reminiscence, rememberance and celebration with Glossop Old Band and Partington Players, in association with Glossop Tours, featuring the voices of those who witnessed, contributed and gave their lives over 80 years ago.

What a fantastic day we had yesterday at the Open Day.

There was an incredible turnout, with lots of people coming in to explore behind the scenes and meet our amazing team. The energy and enthusiasm from everyone who attended made the day truly special.

A huge thank you to our dedicated volunteers who made the day run so smoothly. All of your hardwork makes Partington Theatre a cornerstone of the community.
