Challenge 130. I’ve used an upside down basket , without a handle, over a shallow bowl of water. The open wooden weave supports the stems perfectly.

Happy May Day, anyone going a Maying? Leave the blossom on your windowsills outside and don’t forget to wash your face in Mayday dew. Remember a swarm of bees in May is worth a load of hay.

Celebrating St George on April 23 rd. The patron saint of England, and the red rose, chosen as the English National flower at the end of the Wars of Roses. The Tudor rose was adopted by Henry VII as the English emblem of peace, the civil wars were between the royal house of Lancashire, who wore a red rose, and the royal house of York, who wore white. The Tudor rose, which combined both, came to symbolise peace between the houses.
