Elstead Scouts want to say a big public thank you to the lovely Joan Juniper who spent the Saturday Kids Fun Afternoon giving the scouts CPR and defibrillator training. 40+ locals were trained to perform bystander CPR and use Elstead defibrillators. Thank you Joan for sharing these important skills.

Well Elstead - you certainly did her Majesty proud. Thank you for supporting our Platinum Jubilee events. It really was a 'whole' village affair and it almost took the whole village to pull it off! Thank you for all the wonderful feedback we have been receiving regarding the Jubilee events. We wanted to share one little nugget of information from yesterday's Classic Vehicle display.
The loud 1907 green racing car is extremely famous in racing circles and incredibly valuable and rarely seen! Rob Walters, who co-ordinated the display, informed us that he has had messages of 'astonishment' via the Vintage Sports Car Club UK that we got the owner to bring it out - a real coup!!

A SUPER Saturday of Jubilee fun from the Kids Activity Afternoon to a Right Royal Barn Dance! Thank you for coming along and sharing in the fun. To all the children's organisations who staged the sport and craft afternoon activities, the Hogs Back Band for a fantastic Barn Dance, Scouts BBQ, Pavilion Bar staff, Tilford Brewery and last but not least the fantastic medics who have been with us and on standby all weekend. They will be there again this afternoon for our Platinum Picnic at the Pavilion - plenty of indoor space in the marquee to eat, browse the many stalls and enjoy the classic car display and entertainment - remember to bring your Royal fancy dress!!

Don't let the rain stop you from coming along to our Jubilee celebration finale tomorrow. Elstead's version of the 'Big Lunch' - a Platinum Picnic at the Pav. Lots of indoor space for stalls and to set up a picnic and watch local entertainment in our Jubilee Marquee. The display of classic cars will of course be outside on the Recreation Ground!! Rain or the threat of rain will not be stopping play at the Jubilee Kids Fun Afternoon at the Thursley Road Recreation Ground. The bubbly bouncy slide has arrived, the silent disco is set up complete with disco ball and there will be plenty of indoor and outdoor activities and crafts to keep your children occupied between 1.30-5pm today (Saturday 4 June). Oh and for parents - The Pavilion Bar will be open!! Thanks to the Elstead Cricket Club U9s players for raising the flag to mark Day 3 of Elstead's Platinum Jubilee celebrations!

Pictures speak louder than words as they say! A cracking Live Band night that took us on a musical journey through the last 7 decades. Huge thanks to bands Roll Um Easy and Creature of Habit and guest singers Ellie and Stacey for the fab entertainment. AND BIG thanks to the hardworking Scouts BBQ and the Pavilion Bar staff who kept everyone fed and watered!!

Wishing the Royal British Legion a successful Jubilee Elstfest this evening. Live music, a PETS peformance and a Beacon Lighting at 9.45pm to coincide with lightings in Windsor, across the nation and Commonwealth and followed by the official Commonwealth song sung by Elstead Village Voices!

Nearly time for tea - we are ready to serve!! Thank you to those who have accepted our Jubilee Over 60s Afternoon Tea open invitation and kindly RSVP'd. Still room for those thinking of popping along. Looking forward to celebrating with you at the Jubilee Marquee tomorrow (Thursday 2 June) from 2.30pm and enjoying a nostalgic singalong with the Players of Elstead Theatrical Society.

ELSTEAD JUBILEE PARKING INFORMATION

Elstead Parish Council will be putting parking restrictions in place over the Platinum Jubilee weekend around the Thursley Road Recreation Ground area using a combination of parking marshals and cones.

Only authorised parking will be available at the Pavilion. There will be an overflow car park in operation at nearby St James School for the afternoon events taking place on Thursday 2 June and Sunday 5 June.

People are kindly asked to walk to all the events where possible and not park on nearby roads that may affect emergency vehicle and resident access.

Park & walk options in and around the village include the layby opposite the village hall on Thursley Road, the moat car park on Thursley Road and Burford Lodge off Milford Road.

Thank you for your understanding and if you have to drive, please park carefully and respectfully.
