March starts the season of Nutbourne Tomatoes, the most local tomato supplier to our kitchens. The locality, quality, flavour and vibrancy of produce is what we champion as a business.

Here is one of our favourite spring/summer starters which pairs the tomatoes with whipped Cornish goats curd; deliciously smoky almonds; and verjus - which is juice from unripened grapes - giving a lovely acidity to the dish. The dish is finished with an intense basil oil, locally produced leaves and smoked Cornish sea salt.

The Weekender by Caper & Berry

Established in 2000 by our Managing Director Tim Brennan, Caper & Berry is an independent, privately owned catering company with strong ambitions but a grounded outlook. We are one of the most recognised premium caterers in London and the Home Counties – We really are huge foodies here at Caper & Berry, and the desire to produce great dishes drives our enthusiasm every day. With a reputation for creativity and flair, we pride ourselves in making food that not only tastes delicious but is visually stunning, and as a result has earnt us a reputation, we are immensely proud of.

The main thing we wanted to tell you is that we are still here and going strong! We absolutely cannot wait to get back to hosting events in the future, but completely understand that at this time it is not safe for us to do so. Although it is a hugely frustrating situation, people’s health is by far the most important thing and we just hope that you are all keeping safe and well at this time.

Our hearts go out to all of our couples and clients who have been forced to postpone their weddings and events. Our clients always come first, and as we said at the beginning – we are all in this together! We are supporting everyone through all changes and juggling our calendar and fit everyone in later this year and next year. We are feeling incredibly positive that once we get out the other side the parties are going to be bigger and better than ever.

Some of you may not know the origin story of Caper & Berry: Tim started the company 20 years ago from nothing, delivering sandwiches to local offices. The key to our growth to where we are now has always been to adapt, so that is what we are doing right now and going back to our roots (sort of)! We wanted to find a way we can get our delicious Caper & Berry dishes out to you, which sparked an idea…
