Can anyone spot something new?! This winter, we have covered part of the central courtyard, alongside the Stables Barn, to provide more social outdoor space for drinks and gathering in the Scottish weather. It is a beautiful hand made wooden structure made from our own timber from the estate and, just to keep the peacocks happy, cosy infrared heaters and seating 🌿

Happy new year 2025 to all our followers! Today is the first Wedderlie wedding of the year and we’re extremely excited! Jamie is starting the day with clay pigeon shooting with some guests and later we’ll show you a sneak peak of our new project 🙌

Well folks raise a glass 🥂 The inside of the new barn is pretty much finished 🙌 A few finishing touches and a clean and we can start welcoming this year’s Wedderlie couples! The outside should be finished very soon so stay tuned for some more pics 📸 we’re pretty pleased with how things are looking so far and hope that everyone else loves the new space too 🌿 oh and we mustn’t forgot a big shout out to the amazing Friendly Joiners 🙌

We have a hole!! Lots of progress on the new barn build this week 🙌 the wall between the Stables and the new barn has been knocked through and a passageway built connecting the two spaces 🌿 The inside of the new barn has been nearly fully clad in timber 🌿Windows and doors are in 🌿 Next up is the beautiful old wagon wheel light fittings!

Incase anyone missed our recent story, the new barn is progressing and looks amazing already! It exactly mirrors the outline of the old stables barn to the left, and once glad in Wedderlie wood will look like it has always been there 🌿 Doors and windows are in already and our amazing joiners (The Friendly Joiner!) having started to clad the inside in wood that Jamie has milled from all the trees felled during Storm Arwen in 2021 🌿 Hoping no more trees come down and everyone stays safe in Storm Isha tonight 💕

Welcome to Wedderlie House and grounds. We are a Scottish weddings and events venue located in the Scottish Borders available for exclusive or partial hire. Specialising in offering bespoke, unique and truly unforgettable experiences for a limited number of clients each year. Wedderlie House is located only thirty miles south of Edinburgh, thirty five from the airport and within an easy two hour drive of both Glasgow and Newcastle.

All events are tailored to the individual requirements of each couple or group. The average rental runs for two nights three days, allowing guests to properly catch up and relax in the stunning Borders’ countryside. Our experienced team are on hand to help bring together all your ideas and help make your day all you had hoped for and more.
