🧦 Tall Tale's Marriage Advice #729 🧦

Navigating the sock saga in marriage! 🧺

We've all been there - spotting a lone sock on the floor and feeling that twinge of annoyance. Andy's wife can definitely relate! But here's the deal in relationships: You can either pick up those socks silently or simply ignore them. There's no third option. 🚫

Resist the urge to nag - it's not worth the hassle. Remember, habits like leaving socks around don't vanish post-marriage. So, why not try a creative solution? Place a stylish laundry basket in the usual 'sock-drop zone' and hope for a miracle! 🙏

Fun Fact: Andy swears by his laundry basket - it even got a shout-out in his wedding vows! He claims a 100% success rate... at least 50% of the time. 😂

Can you believe it’s been two years since Mark and Seonaid’s magical wedding at the historic Brig O’Doon Hotel? This venue always holds a special place in our hearts. 🏰✨ Their December wedding was a perfect blend of sunny skies and crisp winter air – a chilly day, but their warmth and joy were palpable in every single shot!🌞❄️ It’s such a delight to revisit these beautiful moments and see their smiling faces light up our screens once again. 💑 🎥💖

Meet Andy Samuel: Co-Founder of Tall Tale Films.

Andy Samuel, co-owner of Tall Tale Films, exemplifies how passion and creativity can redefine a career. His journey from wedding photography to renowned filmmaking and entrepreneurship is both inspiring and unique.

In 2017, Andy's path took an unexpected turn when he was asked to film a documentary about Greenock Morton, a local football club. This project, initially outside his comfort zone, unveiled his passion for storytelling through film, a dimension he felt was missing in photography.

The documentary needed aerial footage of Cappielow, Morton's stadium. Here, Alan, skilled in drone operation, collaborated with Andy. This partnership highlighted their shared vision, blending both their love for film storytelling with aerial cinematography expertise. This moment led to some beers and the creation of Tall Tale Films, a luxury fine art wedding film company known for its unique storytelling and high standards.

During the pandemic which meant stopping weddings taking place, Andy's creativity also led him to launch Shipyard Gin. This premium small-batch gin pays tribute to his grandfather and Scottish shipbuilding heritage. Andy is now preparing to introduce Shipyard Gin to a global market.

At home, Andy is a devoted husband and father, affectionately referring to his daughter Lucy as his "threenager." He's also a keen golfer playing to handicap of 5 and loves snowboarding. His favourite place to be is on a quiet mountain carving through fresh powder.

Andy Samuel is more than a filmmaker or gin creator; he's a storyteller at heart. Whether capturing wedding moments or crafting fine gin, he brings magic and heart to his work. At Tall Tale Films, Andy continues to create lasting memories, one frame at a time.

Starting your wedding planning journey can be both exciting and overwhelming. To set a strong foundation, focus on these three main steps:

1.Establish Your Budget and Priorities:

Budget: Before diving into the details, determine your overall budget. This will guide all your decisions, from venue selection to guest list size. Consider all potential sources of funding, including personal savings, contributions from family, and any other resources.

Priorities: Discuss with your partner what aspects of the wedding are most important to both of you. Is it the venue, the food, the number of guests, entertainment, or photography? Knowing your priorities helps in allocating your budget effectively and ensures that you spend on what truly matters to you.

2.Choose a Date and Venue:

Date Selection: Selecting a date early in the planning process is crucial. Consider factors like significant personal dates, season, work schedules, and holidays. Be flexible if possible, as your preferred venue may not be available on your first-choice date.
Venue Search: The venue sets the tone for your entire wedding. When searching for venues, consider your wedding size, style, and budget. Think about logistics like location, capacity, and what is included in the venue package. Visit several venues, if possible, to get a feel for the space and envision your day there.

Create a Planning Timeline and Checklist:

Timeline: Develop a planning timeline with a checklist of tasks to be completed by certain dates. This helps in managing the workload and ensures that nothing is left until the last minute. There are many online tools and apps available to assist with this.

Key Vendors: Start researching and booking key vendors early, especially if you have specific ones in mind. Tall Tale Films, photographers, caterers, florists, and entertainers can book up quickly, especially during peak wedding seasons.

Remember, wedding planning should be a fun and memorable experience. Stay organised, communicate openly with your partner, and don't hesitate to ask for help or hire a professional planner if needed.
