Ikebana Lincolnshire Ikebana is a Japanese floral art. Ikenobo school is the oldest; founded in about 550 years ago in Ky Children during holiday are welcome.

Ikebana (Japanese floral art) is not only arranging flowers but also learning a way of life through flower arrangement. (Kado)
Ikenobo school is the origin of Ikebana based in Rokkaku Temple in Kyoto founded in 15th century by Buddhist monk Senno. Though a lesson has a relaxed atmosphere, it is very mindful activity.

Went to the opening day of FLOWERS at Saatch gallery in London.
I came home with basically photos of three works .
Miguel chevalier’s virtual garden called “Extra Natural”
Rebecca Louise Law’s installation “La Fleur Morte”
William Darrell’s 3D printed “The Machinery of Enchantment”.
There are plenty of amazing paintings and prints of flowers but nothing much stayed with me.
Interactive art has got something intriguing.

This chrysanthemum is classified as a “fantasy”. Arranged with Liriodendron tulipifera (tulip tree) and Acer. In ikenobo, there are the grade of chrysanthemum colours. 1. White 2. Discovered how to hide the arrangement! Christine’s free style for submitting to the magazine. So I can’t show you but you can peek a bit.

One left over anthurium from Burghley house workshop, strelitzia leaf and flowering jasmine were my starting points for this Rikka shimputai. Strelitzia has been growing happily in my studio for 3 years but no flowers yet. World seminar has started. Day 1 was Riika or shoka shimputai. My class was the only one in Japanese lesson. Here are some arrangements from the class and mine was the last one.

Exhibition at Royal Society of Sculptors was such a successful event. We met other members from all over U.K. and saw many beautiful arrangements. The venue was suberb. Great space and lighting. Thank you Lorraine and her colleagues for their assistance and support.
