This allows our couples to bring their own alcohol that caters to their individual tastes and requirements. Corkage fees are often expensive, so it helps to save costs on the big day too!

Work Starts on Grantham Designer Outlet

And we’re off... Work on Buckminster’s state-of-the-art Grantham Designer Outlet Village has begun today, with foundations setting and diggers on site for the formal Covid compliant media launch attended by the Leader of the Council, the Company Directors, and Rioja the outlet development specialists. The new A1 link serving it is well on track for opening later in 2021, with the post pandemic designed premium retail destination planned to open in summer 2023. The Outlet Village is predicted to attract thousands a day, with spin off benefits for the town and its surrounding attractions. This new development will draw millions of shoppers to the area, not just from London (just over an hour away by train), but also those with a 1 ½ hour drive by car. Outlets are part of the future shopping mix with the rise of online shopping and the pent-up desire for a physical but quality driven open-air shopping day out. Watch this video to find out more about this exciting contemporary development, which is integral to Buckminster’s drive to regenerate the area and raise economic confidence.

We Need YOU!

Buckminster PLAYING FIELD RESTORATION! The playing field is currently used by a football club as it’s base and there is some mixed age play equipment but we have plans now to renovate and restore Buckminster Playing Field as a place for everyone to use! At the moment, we are considering new play equipment, a picnic area, a BMX track, a wild flower area and more -but we welcome ideas and your support as plans turn to action! It will be an ongoing project and hope that many people will be involved in whatever aspect they have an interest/skill/knowledge in developing. We also are starting to plan the complete renovation and development of the Sports Changing room/facilities Building-to make it a more generally useful and attractive facilty. This will be part of the longer term /wider use of outdoor facilities the village offers that will complement the successful wide use of the Village Hall. Buckminster Village Hall Committee welcomes any suggestions or ideas you have about the development of Playing Field. Please get in touch directly with [email protected].
