Save Your Thameside Protest September 2021
Do you remember that evening in September 2021 when the people of Thurrock came together to let their voices be heard.
All ages and all walks of life bought together with one simply aim to Save Your Thameside. To stop Thurrock Council closing and selling off the Thameside Complex.
We met at the Council offices and marched to the Thameside, banners held high, singing and chanting, it was a sight to behold, a sight to be proud of.
Peaceful, powerful, but far from quiet!
We came together, people power! The council wanted to close the Thameside before January 2022
AND ITS STILL OPEN NOW!!
You did this, we did this together

With the local elections coming up this week on the 2nd May we just wanted to ask you to please think about our Save YOUR Thameside Campaign when making your important decision to vote this year.
Ask your candidate to pledge to Save YOUR Thameside for future generations of Thurrock.
Itās not the people of Thurrockās fault the council borrowed Ā£1.5 BILLION to invest and lost 100ās of millions pounds.
Itās not our fault they have a Ā£600 million hole in their budgets this year.
The Thameside Complex, the theatre, the museum, the library should not be sold off to cover debts because of their mismanagement of our funds.
The council want to spend Ā£1.2 million plus to move your library and museum to the old defunct council offices. You remember the council offices they said werenāt good enough for them so they built a new Ā£10 million office next door!
Some would say they want to divide and rule over the Thameside, giving them greater reason to close and sell it off!

Wow last nights Light UP Thurrock Event by #artsoutburst was amazing!
As you walked around the park you could literally be anywhere Paris, London, Milan or any cultural city - not in a Park in Grays which quite frankly is a no go area after dark! It was incredible and what a turn out people of all ages from every part of our community. I canāt even imagine the level of hard work that went into the organisation.
Massive congratulations to the Arts Outburst team and everyone involved. It was so special to be surrounded by so many people with a real community spirit, it made me proud to be in Thurrock
Hereās to many more fabulous events like this in Thurrock which engages everyone in arts, culture and community.

Vic is an original member of Thurrock Court Players whoās first production took place over 50 years ago and was one of the first shows to ever take place at the Thameside.
Vic is a founding committee member of the Save Your Thameside Campaign and also a Director of Thurrock International Celebration of Culture. He is part of the team who have put forward a Community Asset Transfer to save the Thameside from being closed and sold.
