Specials thanks to our customers at Churchfield House who purchased tickets for our Autumn raffle in support of Cat Friends of Hyndburn.

The winning number is 26 (AM466495) colour pale orange. The winner was notified 23/10/24.

We will be having a winter raffle in December so look out for what will be a fabulous festive raffle. Thank you for your support in helping Cats and Kittens in Hyndburn.

Thank you to everyone who entered the raffle for the hanging basket. The raffle was drawn on Sunday 19th May by Linda and witnessed by Angela and Lynne. The wining number is 46 and the winner has been notified. Thank you once again. All proceeds will go to Cat Friends of Hyndburn.

Psst …..in case you haven’t already heard …. We are having a Bazaar this coming Saturday, 11 May to celebrate our 10th anniversary in support of ‘Cat Friends of Hyndburn’. Starting from 12:00 noon, the Bazaar will be opened by the Town Crier and the Ukulele Band will be playing in the grounds from 2.00 pm. There’ll be stalls galore inside and outside including cakes and plants to name a few, along with face painting and etching. We’ll also be serving teas & coffee and cake. The licensed bar will be open and ice cream will be on sale. It’s going to be a nice weekend weatherwise and we are set for a ‘right good do’. So, come along and give it a whirl. We hope to see you there!

I was browsing through my “Messages” App the other day and I noticed that Bill Coulshed’s birthday was today, so I decided to get back in touch with him and wish him a happy birthday and chat. So I sat down this morning to give Bill a nudge that I’m still around and opened up Messages and all I saw was a more or less blank page, except a message from my eldest son who lives in Canada now and a note telling me that the message was false as there was no so name as his in the App. No kidding - it was the ONLY name in the App.

The reason I raise is this is in case anyone on here knows Bill and, if so, would please get in touch with and tell him i also was trying to get in touch with, to wish him a merry birthday and have a chat in touch in general.

I would give you my email address to pass on to Bill, but I’ve been having strange goings on on my “Messages” account lately - not that I have any suspect whatsoever that Bill is involved, but my email address have to be public to make sure he got it.

If he doesn’t have my email address, please give him my best regards and my email address.

Churchill House Cafe/Restaurant is run solely by volunteers with help from students at weekends, in the summer holidays and bank holidays.

Whilst we currently have a number of students who help us on a weekly basis, we are in urgent need of volunteers to help in both the kitchen and front of house. We are open every Thursday, Friday and Sunday.

We run a busy restaurant and we are a happy bunch of people who enjoy providing a service to local people and to those from further afield.

Breakfast in the Cafe/Restaurant.

Our lunch time hours will remain the same:
hot meals served from
12:00 noon - 2:00 pm with snacks, afternoon tea, and coffee & cake
served until 4:00 pm every Thursday, Friday and Sunday.

Our tea room/restaurant will be closed between Monday, 25 July and Wednesday, 3 August and will re-open for lunch on Thursday, 4 August. In the meantime, if you’d like to book a table, you can ring our mobile no. 07599268596 - just leave a message and we’ll get back to you.
Why not join us during the school holidays - we have a children’s menu with a holiday special of sausage rolls and sautéed potatoes at a very low price!
Our August opening times remain the same: every Thursday, Friday and Sunday we will be serving hot meals from 12:00 noon until 2:00 pm with snacks, afternoon teas and coffee & cakes available until 4:00 pm.

We will be serving Breakfast at Churchfield House next Sunday, 10 July and every Sunday thereafter, from 9.30 am - 11.00 am. Get your day off to a perfect start with our Full English Breakfast or a delicious bacon or sausage sandwich with your choice of sauce! Booking not necessary but advisable. Come and join us on Thursday, 2 June, as part of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations. From 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm Activities for Children aged 5-8 years old (Gazebos outside). Free admission with ticket. All children must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Party box to include snacks and a cupcake to decorate for the Queen. Treasure Hunt with a prize for the winner.
