Good morning 😃
Many thanks to Ben and Barry at the Oaklands for hosting a fabulous wedding fayre yesterday.
We had such a great day, meeting lots of couples and catching up with some incredible suppliers.
Looking forward to creating some more flowers for future brides and grooms 👰🏻‍♀️🤵🏻‍♂️

Rose week has come to an end, so here a little bit of fun to end it nicely. 🌹
This week we mentioned our favourite roses, Mags and Vicky preferred the white roses and Jane the pink. But in actual fact these are our favorites.🥰

❤️Top rose is called Memory Lane, a beautiful lilac rose with pink tips to the the outer petals. Big favourite in wedding bouquets.

❤️Middle rose is called Jane, this is a beautiful hot pink roses, it is more of a garden rose than as a cut flowers, but you can imagine its beautiful rose scent.

❤️Bottom rose is called Sonia, its a soft peachy pink rose. It's an old rose that we don't see as much any more which is a shame as it's beautiful.

Well as we are at the Oaklands Hall Hotel on Sunday for their wedding fayre show casing there beautiful hotel, this is a sneak peek of some of the flowers we will be using. And with our logo as Crosskills pink, these are the perfect colours to match our brand, in all shades of pinks and white
We're there between 11am-3pm.

Rose week🌹
Today is Yellow roses 💛
These are universally known as symbols of friendship, and shows the love between friends when sending yellow roses.
Bright and sunny, yellows roses always bring a smile and Brighten your day.
Yellow roses come in various shade of pastel lemon, to deep yellow/golden rose and various shades in between.

Today we're pink rose🩷
Pink roses come in a whole variety of different shades, from pale pastel pink, to a bold hot pink, and every shade in between. Traditionally pink rose symbolise admiration, happiness and love and more subtle than traditional bold red rose. Pink roses are often used to signify strong friendships or the love between family members. Pink roses can also represent admiration and respect towards someone close to you.
Jane's favourite rose is pink.

Today it's white roses.
The white rose represents purity, youthfulness, innocence, young love and loyalty. Because of this white roses are often also viewed as a way to symbolise new beginnings and have come to represent love, much like the red rose have done for ages. Mags and Vicky prefere the white rose.

Rose week. 🌹
Today it's Red roses, these come in various varieties in all shades, ranging from a very dark burgundy, almost black to a bright and vibrant vivid red.
Sending red roses dates back to the Victorian era. In those days the frank expression of one's feelings were quite taboo. Flowers were used to express feelings for a person and pass on a message.

This week at Crosskills it's rose week. Everyday, we will tell you about different colour roses. ⚘️
The botanical name for roses is Rosa. Roses are a classic and instantly recognisable flower with woody and prickly stems ( which we don't like 🫤). They have glossy leaves that are mid to dark green. They come in a vast variety, in all different colours including pastels in all shades of pinks, lilacs, peaches, creams or snowy whites, vibrant yellows and golds, crimson, red, to deep burgundy.
There are many modern day variety using dye where by when the flowers drink they dye goes into the stem and the flowers become a different colours, this is how we get for example the deep blue roses or rainbow roses.

🌼Spring is in the Air🌼
On these darker days is good to look forward to spring, when the weather becomes warmer, leaves and plants start to grow again and flowers appear: Many bulbs bloom in spring, which coincidentally are our favorites.

Jane's are hyacinths, which have a beautiful scent.

Mags are daffodils, her happy flower.

Vickys are Tulips, purple being her favourite.
