Counting down to Open Studios at Birtley Woodland Art Space – 7th & 8th June 2025

In just over a week, we’ll be welcoming visitors back for our 5th annual Open Studios, hosted in the heart of the beautiful Birtley Estate in Bramley, Surrey.

This unique event, run in collaboration with Surrey Artists Open Studios (SAOS), is a chance to explore creativity in a truly picturesque setting – 48 acres of private woodland, bursting with inspiration.

We’re proud to be showcasing the work of talented local artists and makers, including botanical artists, sculptors, furniture makers, willow weavers, painters, and jewellers – each bringing their own creative magic to the woods.

Im pleased with my new basket, really sturdy. I used a selection of Willow including Old French and Flanders Red, hope you like it!

Birtley Woodland Art Space is situated in a wonderful, picturesque woodland setting and is the perfect location for the fourth annual Surrey Artists Open Studio.

Come and enjoy the beautiful surroundings while exploring work from artists and makers including Drawings, Paintings, Printmaking, Collage, Photography, Willow Craft, Pyrography, Woodwork, Ceramics, and Sculptures.

The open studio takes place from 11am -5pm on the 14th, 15th, 16th, 21st, 22nd, and 23rd June.

As well as the open studio where you can view and buy artwork, there are plenty of workshops you can get involved in, including special activities for the Summer Solstice on the 22nd June*.

On the evening of the 22nd, there will be a summer yoga flow and meditation on the woodland yoga deck and then the option to take a walk, join in with activities, or simply relax around the fire pit to welcome the summer and enjoy delicious food from the woodland kitchen. There is an additional cost for the Summer Solstice evening and you will need to book in advance.

*Some activities may need to be pre-booked so please check the website for full details.

Hey! The sun is shining at last.

I ( Ruth) am looking forward to my first day of workshops this year at our gorgeous woodland art space on the Birtley estate next Sunday 28th April.

I have spaces for both woodcarving and pyrography, so if you fancy a go at either or both, please do come and join us for a healthy and creative day out in the woods in Surrey.
