My last few table decorations were delivered today, I absolutely love creating beautiful orders for my customers, I made a matching wreath, which I delivered a couple of weeks ago to go with these.
I know I haven't used the obligatory christmas music, but in reality, I absolutely love creating too stuff like this, I've literally had a workout dancing today as well as creating.

The things I do for Christmas wreaths, heading down the woods in a transport box bouncing around foliage in my ears 😆, I wouldn't have it any other way and this is what my wreath classes are about, the freshest seasonal foliage not imported sprayed with chemicals and picked months ago this is all picked the week before from our own land, English, fresh, inseason local chemical free, handmade environmental, unfortunately so many people don't know or care where their wreath comes from but for me it's a big deal and this is one part I look forward to every year, it helps when the weather is so beautiful 😍
Thank you to the other half for putting up with my demands

I'm so excited for Christmas this year and really feeling the magic already. The first classes start next week, so I'm picking foliage and berries at every chance I get. The willow I've grown for a few years is really producing some great stems that have been used for the bases, sausage rolls are made, and the mulled wine has been tested, Mariah has been blasted out the speakers a couple of times already and I've even done a little bit of present shopping

Autumn in a nutshell, well bouquet but omg I didn't want to say goodbye to this one.

It's definitely getting colder and won't be long before we get a proper frost here in East Sussex, so I'm making the most of still being able to produce lots of gorgeous flowers.

The first 500 tulip bulbs went in today, and nearly all the dahlias are lifted.

Crazy to think in a few weeks we will all be going christmas wreath crazy, is it me or is tome going so fast, I need more hours in the day

This job is definitely not for the faint-hearted, and believe me, I can't tell with all of them 😅

What am I doing?

Selecting the singles from the double stocks, and if you didn't know, you'd think the yellow sickly ones were for the compost, but it's those lush green guys that have to go.

I love stocks and I love the singles just as much as the smell is incredible but unfortunately the singles don't last as long as a double and apart from going on my table they aren't making me money, I can't afford to plant over 100 of each variety to find 50 are singles, so this tedious task must be done.
I don't actually mind it, and not everything is sown like this. Most things are individually sown per cell, but I purposely scatter more stocks than I need because I know I'm going to discard some.
thank you, , for supplying some quality seed with hardly any singles

The chrysanthemum is just starting, Alouise Salmon is always a favourite, but this little single outdoors variety is just peachy 🍑 it's huge and covered in bud.
I've never been a fan of Chrysanthemum, but there are a few that are so beautiful, far from the garage flowers we're used to associating with chrysanthemum and I'm actually quite fond of the smell it's got a nostalgic feel

It's that time of year that we all love so much, that warm fuzzy feeling inside like we're all still kids, I absolutely love christmas and for me making a wreath for the door has been something we used to do as kids with mum and ive kept that tradition going with my kids and for the past 8 years I've been teaching you lovely lot everything I know. A lot of you return year after year and say this workshop is the start of Christmas for you, I love chatting with new and old faces drinking warm mulled drinks and yummy christmas treats all to some classic christmas songs. What's also beautiful about these workshops is the amount of materials on offer all grown dried and sourced by myself, meaning every wreath is different. Release your creativeness.

Date Saturday 7th December

Today, I've started sowing a few hardy annuals, only colibri poppies and snapdragons for now, but over the next few weeks, we will be in full swing

I've used John innes seed compost for a few years now and find it gives them the best start.
Make sure you sieve the compost as it's peat free so it can have some larger bits in it, but I'd sieve any compost for seeds.
Wash your pots/trays
Fill and firm the soil and moisten enough so it's damp, not wet.
This next bit is very important. Go and put the kettle on for a cuppa 😃
Make sure you label correctly and make nots of what you've sown, how many, where the seeds came from, and what conditions they like. Both snaps and colibri both need light to germinate so they aren't covered with anything, but always check the seed packet or Google.
As tempting as it is, only sow the number of seeds you need. They will thank you, and snaps can be sown throughout next year for extra flowers.
Once you've done sowing, place in a sheltered position out of direct sunlight and check every 5 mins just in case someone's popped up already 😆

Happy sowing, guys
I hope this is useful

Autumn sunsets in a bunch of flowers.

Go into the garden and pick a flower. Any flower may be something you would never normally choose, then walk around picking colours that complement or totally clash with that flower until you have a beautiful bunch for yourself to enjoy as we all deserve a little treat and one that's grown by yourself or a loved one is extra special ❤️
