Lovely gift idea from our title sponsor.

Available in two different sizes, 100's of designs, and with personalisation included in their price, our rosette runners are always popular at this time of year. A great gift for the competitive dog or horse lover in your life, or equally good as a 'treat yourself' moment, with the added bonus of being a pretty way to tidy up the house after a summer spent winning lots of ribbons!

SOUTH OF ENGLAND FIXTURES ANNOUNCEMENT

We are very sad to announce that we will not be running the South of England (1) in April 2025 but The South of England (2) including the FEI 2* & 3* is back on the usual weekend of 27th & 28th September 2025.

Having had to abandon two years in a row due to the weather and unsuitable ground conditions and with the huge costs incurred when putting on an event we are unable to personally take on the financial gamble it has become. Once we have signed contracts for the venue hire, contractors and affiliation agreements etc. at the beginning of January we are then liable for all these large payments should the event be cancelled.

Due to factors beyond our control, we now have a reputation of being forced to abandon the event, so it is now common for competitors to hang back until the last possible moment to enter, whilst looking at the long-range weather forecast! Ballot date used to give us an idea of competitor numbers and therefore the financial viability of running the event but now, we cannot gamble on the significant quantity of last-minute entries to just about cover costs. Whilst the new BE Abandonment Fund gives us support on a % of the competitor’s entry fee at the time of the abandonment we should not run an event at the beginning of April when the probability of cancellation and receiving a support payment is so high. That is why insurance companies would no longer cover our spring event!

The new spread payment option due to come in when entering events in 2025 will be a great financial aid for competitors, increasing the numbers at ballot date and therefore reducing our stress levels but we are again still subject to the unpredictability of the English weather (climate change?) and ground conditions at that time of year!

We have tried to change to a later date in the eventing calendar which may be drier, but it has proved impossible as not only do we need to find a date that doesn’t clash with another BE/Organisers event, but we also have to fit with The Showground Event Centre’s calendar which is incredibly busy.

We do hope you understand our predicament, we will of course keep looking for a suitable date to run from 2026 onwards.

Another year another win for !

Winning this prestigious industry award always makes us strive to do more, make the event bigger & better for competitors & spectators alike, especially on an international level!

This year’s SEEL Awards Ball was very special as it was in honour of the Georgie Campbell Foundation raising £7,725 with the raffle & silent auction on the night. It was a privilege to come together as the SEEL community to support Georgie’s family & friends for this inspirational foundation.

It has been a decade of eventing seasons since Wellington first attended the SEEL Awards Ball to win ‘Event Of The Year’. We are extremely proud to have continued to win consecutively & in recent years with our international status be awarded ‘FEI Event Of The Year’. We can’t thank SEEL Chairman Ian Bareham & the dedicated committee enough for what they do to support the strong profile of British Eventing in the South East. With so many iconic & local events dropping out of the fixtures calendar it does means so much for competitors, owners & sponsors to continue to keep our entries overflowing from BE100 up to Advanced, CCI1*S, CCI2*S to CCI3*S & hopefully beyond!

A huge heartfelt thanks again to all those involved in the successful running of the event who undoubtedly contributed to us achieving this award, from BE & FEI officials to our own Wellington Riding team to of course our tireless volunteers!

There was also another big win at the ball which cannot go without a mention for - Helen Williams, Estate Managing Director, won ‘Best Dressed Lady’ 💜 Congratulations to Helen & again thanks for the unwavering support, investment & strategic planning of Wellington Estates to ensure the longevity & growth of our event!

Sometimes we get requests for some slightly 'different' lettering on our house signs, for properties with shared drives, ones that have changed names, are informally known as one thing and officially known as another, etc. We've gotten quite experienced with how to lay these out in a clear and pretty way now, and we think this photo sent in by one of our customers showcases just that!

We would like to thank everyone who made last Saturdays SEEL Ball such a success
We are very fortunate to have so many loyal sponsors who return year after year to support Eventing in the South East.
This year we decided to support the 'Georgie Campbell Foundation' as really close to our hearts, and always in our minds.
We can now publicly announce that the raffle and silent auction raised an amazing £7725 for the foundation, this doubles our previous record ! This could not of been achieved without the overwhelming number of raffle prizes offered, we thank everyone who donated.
Also a big well done to our ranking winners, well deserved all round.
We do it all again next year, pencil in 22 November in your diary where again we will do it for the foundation.
the official photos are now available on the link below, Julian will donate 50% of takings to the foundation, take a look and order your now.
