Wendy was the first and only celebrant I contacted about our wedding. I knew from the moment we spoke that she would be the perfect fit to celebrate our marriage. Throughout the process Wendy was professional and friendly. She ensured she spent the time to get to know us and sculpted the perfect script for our wedding ceremony that captured our personalities and sense of humour, whilst being meaningful and romantic.
We are so happy to have chosen Wendy as our celebrant and would highly recommend her to anyone who wants a unique and personal wedding celebration. Thank you Wendy x

I'm so delighted to receive this wonderful review for last week's naming ceremony, thank you so much Ashley, Lucie and Bella-Rose!

We held a naming ceremony for our Daughter Bella-Rose and Wendy was our celebrant. She was outstanding from start to finish, the service was lovely and she held our hand the whole way as we were new to something like this. Wendy was always on hand to help and guide us through everything before the event and when it came to the service itself she made you feel at ease and all of our guests had only good things to say about her. She is warm, kind and always had your interests at heart. I would recommend Wendy to anyone and we will be for sure using her again for future life events. Thank you Wendy, you are a star!! We asked Wendy to be the celebrant at the naming ceremony for our son. What can I say, Wendy was exceptional, professional and really made the day perfect for us. I’m so happy we went for the humanist approach to welcome our son into the family, Wendy made that possible. She delivered a truly amazing script which was personable and very humble. I really can’t thank Wendy enough for making our naming day so special, I would highly recommend her to anyone and wouldn’t hesitate to ask her again to join another humanist celebration we would hold. Thank you Wendy!

β€˜I personally do think there are grounds for changing the law [on assisted dying]. Traditionally this has always been dealt with through a Private Members’ Bill and a free vote, and that seems appropriate to me.’

Sir Keir Starmer, leader of the Labour Party, has advocated for MPs to have the opportunity to vote on assisted dying.

This announcement aligns with similar recent comments by other senior politicians, including Conservatives Michael Gove, Alicia Kearns, Mel Stride, and Tobias Ellwood who are backing a renewed parliamentary vote on this crucial issue.

We've welcomed this development and the renewed growth in support of legal change. Adults of sound mind who are intolerably suffering from an incurable, physical condition, and have a clear and settled wish to die should have the option of an assisted death.

Long before Christianity, humans across Europe gathered together at the darkest and coldest time of the year to feast and appreciate each other’s company.

What does Christmas mean to humanists? πŸŽ„πŸŽ…πŸŽβ„οΈπŸŽŠπŸ§¦

For most people in Britain, Christmas is about enjoying food and drink, giving presents, and appreciating the one life we have with the people we love. No time of year better sums up the values and qualities that humanists hold most dear.

In our article 'Compassion, community, and Christmas: a humanist perspective', several famous humanists including Alice Roberts, Jim Al-Khalili, and Adam Rutherford share what Christmas means to them. Link in the comments!

In a recent Guardian interview about his return to theatre to play the German composer Johann Sebastian Bach, Scottish actor Brian Cox was asked about his own beliefs in contrast to Bach's. Cox responded with sentiments about his Catholic upbringing, and how today, he considers himself a humanist. This is what he said πŸ‘‡
