Sad times 😢

We are very sad to announce that the Barley Bear plush range we have in store has now been discontinued 😭😭😭

Every single one of you loved their cuteness and soft, fluffy texture. However, the company who makes them didn’t see the demand needed to justify the investment in their future 💔

It’s just business obviously, but it does mean that the bears we have in stock will not be replenished… and when they are gone, they are gone for good 😔

We have limited stock left so if this is something you had your eye on for a special occasion, please come down and grab one before it’s gone. In particular we have only one each of the following in stock:-

Age 16, Age 18, Age 30, Giant Barley, Wooly Jumper Barley, Original Barley, Champagne Barley, Rainbow Barley and Star Barley.

I have no idea why I am posting this on my business page, but I figured this is the best way to get word out to help more parents be more informed about something I have just worked out.

As both my kids get a bus to school, we've had their new bus passes today, along with a leaflet advertising their Under 19's bus fares (we have to pay), and at first glance it looks like they are offering discounted passes (week, month, term, year... you get the gist!)

So, me being the sad person I am lol, I have worked out to the day/pound whether or not to buy one of these passes based on the term dates for our school, and they are NOT the good value they want you to think they are!!!

For instance, the MyTerm pass only saves us money for 1 out of the 3 terms, and the MyADACEMIC pass doesn't save us any money at all!!! (yes, that is exactly how West Yorkshire Combined Authority have spelt it!!) 🤣🤣🤣

All in all, bus travel for the whole academic year actually costs in at £352.10 when you work it out correctly, which is £17.90 cheaper than the £370 MyAcademic pass. I know it's not a tonne of money, but every penny counts in today's day and age!!!

Obviously, if your child uses the bus alot outside of school, these figures may be totally irrelevant and it could prove to be cheaper for you to buy the passes in which case, pretend you never read this 🤣🤣🤣

Well, it’s GCSE results day 🎉

And for the first time, our household is one of many waiting for their baby birds to get the exam results they’ve worked so hard for.

We were out and about in local educational establishments yesterday, setting up their displays, and we have see first hand the excitement that’s been building ❤️

Sending love and luck to everyone, but remember, it’s only a number… what will be will be, and as I told my daughter, as long as you tried your best at the time, we can never be disappointed 🙌

I’m sorry but I can’t keep quiet about this now.

The Balloon Bank initiative was set up to help give children a balloon during these difficult times even if mum and dad are struggling financially.

Unfortunately, I’ve now had two people request balloons on two separate occasions, but not come to collect. As such, I now have a Harry Potter balloon free to a good home, just so it doesn’t go to waste.

People have donated money from the goodness of their hearts to facilitate this initiative. Please don’t be wasteful and ignorant of this fact. It’s down right rude.

And before people say have I tried to make contact with these people, yes I have, and neither numbers would accept my call. Both people also received communication from me confirming their requests had been granted.

Last week we were thrown in at the deep end after our holidays, but totally rose to the occasion!

In and amongst our A-Level balloon orders, we also created the balloon decor for 3 major car dealerships, and delivered and set it all up within 48 hours 🙌

What a lovely message to wake up to.

If my memory serves me correctly, this lady found us via a Facebook post looking for recommends. With now dozens of balloon people in the area, I don’t take anything for granted, and am always grateful when clients a) choose to shop with us and b) travel from another area to do so.

This year is my shop’s 10th anniversary, something I marvel at every day. I mean, how the hell did I manage that, especially with a pandemic in the middle of it all 🤷‍♀️

Hi everyone.

Well I’m back from my jollybobs and it’s bonkers hectic busy.

So today marks the start of the bit we all hate… the coming home from holiday countdown 😭😭😭

Today we visited the German and American war cemeteries, and Omaha Beach. Very very special places 💔

We leave this gorgeous campsite on Friday morning, and travel to Calais for the ferry crossing back to Dover… then we travel up to Milton Keynes as we have a little bludfest to attend on Sunday on the way home 🖤🖤🖤

Home Monday, then back to work Tuesday… then it will all be a distant memory 😭😭😭
