It’s not uncommon to get the jitters about your gown before the big day.
Sometimes it just takes a little tweak to the design to make it the perfect gown and for you to fall in love with it all over again ❤️
This gorgeous gown has had a little transformation. We’ve removed the horsehair hem (wide stiffener), taken the bodice in and added boning, plus softened the neckline with some leaf details and custom made straps 🥰
We now have one happy bride who loves her gown again ❤️
Raising the side bust….not an easy feat!
Having a low backed gown means less bust support and dare we say it, dreaded side b**b!
Here we’ve used fabric from the hem to raise and reshape the bust/sides/back of the gown to offer more support and shape ❤️

Definitely should have taken a before picture of this one! The sleeves were attached to the gown, but are now separate with the added button cuff details. We’ve also taken in the bodice, hips and bottom, and shortened the hem and underskirt ❤️

Pressing and finishing ❤️
Plain hems….not always as straight forward as they may seem! Sometimes gowns have internal structures that need replacing when altering, making more work unpicking, aligning and resewing. This gorgeous gown needed shortening a lot, and the inner stiffener replacing. Our tiara and hair vine collections, so many sparkles and pearls, it’s a princesses dream 💞
Well that’s the last dress sewn until I return to work in 2024! Saved the most complex till last of course🤣 This amazing gown has had quite some work done! Shes been on the table for a full week, with all that lace and beading to come off and go back on, not to mention a horsehair hem, she’s been time consuming to say the least! She’s been taken in on the bodice, through the waist and made more shapely into the fishtail, She’s been shortened, that’s 5 layers of tulle, a lining and the top layer with the horsehair stiffener (not real horsehair!) Bardot straps have been added and secured into place instead of being detachable, plus some elastic adding to help keep in place, She’s been boned all the way round the bodice for extra support, because even though it had the corset look that original boning wouldn’t have held up a fried 🍳 And last but by no means least she’s had the original dress fastening of hook and eyes removed, and replaced with a much nicer and tidier invisible zip!
