Sparrows Campsite is a Glamping & Events Venue set in the heart of a family farm in Essex Look forward to hearing from you!

Sparrows Campsite was created out of the desire to provide a sanctuary from everyday life, the chance to slow down and reconnect with nature and the people you love. The campsite sits in 20 + acres of wildflower and grass parkland surrounded by old woodlands, in the very heart of a working arable farm. The campsite is off-grid and takes as many eco-friendly measures as possible to lessen its impac

t on the local ecosystems and environment in general. Sparrows Campsite is open through the summer months from May - October and offers Glamping stays, Wild camping pitches, yoga retreats and woodland and bushcraft weekends. There are many things on offer not only from the campsite but farm itself. You can explore the lake and waterfall just a stone's throw away, walk around the neighbouring nature reserve or simply relax amongst the wildflower meadow in the summer sun. The campsite is only 1 hour from London and within easy striking distance from all the major towns in Essex making it very close to home yet you'll feel like you've really escaped! Very excited to announce a new event on Saturday 3rd May - Talking Trees with Steve Woodley!

Steve will be leading us through a fascinating journey on the rich tapestry of native UK trees. The evening talk will be set amongst the trees in the campsites veteran woodlands, with the glow of the campfire illuminating the many species Steve will be teaching us about. He will delve into their ecological importance, folklore and you will gain practical knowledge on identifying them too!

Very excited to be collaborating with Cary-Anne Hornsey from Forage Grow Create in offering monthly Fireside Sessions this year!

The first session will be held on Friday 21st February at the campsite.

These evenings are an opportunity to take a moment to disconnect from everyday life and return to our ancestral ways of simply sitting around a fire with a community of like minded people under the stars. These sessions are open to anyone and you are welcome to contribute however you wish as there will be an open mic session during the evening. There will also be storytelling, folklore and sharing of ancestral ways from Cary-Anne. She is also a highly qualified forager and will be bringing some delicious freshly foraged and prepared teas for everyone too!

Upholding traditions is an integral part of celebrating Midsummer and recognising the change in the seasons. The best way to do this is to be immersed in nature!

Midsummer at Sparrows has a great line up of nature based workshops running over the course of the weekend :

Nature walks with Steve Woodley - Steve’s walks take you on a journey of discovery and learning that will leave you not looking at trees and the landscape the same way again!

Natural art printing with Simon Turner - Simon is a fantastic multimedia artist who specialises in incorporating nature into his artwork and workshops. He’ll guide you through the various processes of producing your own piece of nature based artwork to take home with you!

These are just a small taste of the workshops running over the Midsummer weekend and are available for all ages. There are plenty more to come too!

Sparrows Campsite is very excited to introduce the Spring edition of Sparrows Supper Club for this year!

Taking place on Saturday 27th April. Tickets are available via the website now!

Sparrows Campsite is delighted to be teaming up with local forager Sam Keating, who will lead you on a foraging exploration to discover some of the ingredients you will later be tasting in the wild dining experience!

Top chef Eliot Craven has put together a wonderful seasonally inspired 7 course menu. Which will be cooked over the fire and using the best local and foraged ingredients.

To round out the evening, the amazingly talented Alice Phelps will be serenading you in front of the crackling campfire into the evening.
