The 2024 Royal Southern Yacht Club Annual Dinner and Prize Giving was held at the club in Hamble on Saturday 16th November. Over a 100 members and guests came together to enjoy the culmination of an epic year of sailing, chef Mark produced a delicious meal and prizes galore were awarded to our members.

Huge thanks go out to those who volunteered their time to enable our fabulous sailing programme, we can’t do it without you, to our sponsors and to the sailing team.

We are pleased to announce that on Friday 25th October 2024 we received a letter from Buckingham Palace saying:

"… after careful consideration, His Majesty The King would be delighted to accept the Royal Patronage of the Royal Southern Yacht Club."

This continues the legacy of Royal Patronage previously held by his father the late HRH Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh who followed in the footsteps of H.M. Queen Victoria, H.R.H. The Prince Consort, H.M. King Edward VII and H.M. King George V.

This is fantastic news and we hope you are all as happy and as proud as we are. We express our heartfelt thanks to His Majesty King Charles III for accepting this Patronage, and we are honoured by his choice to uphold this legacy.

Entries for the Academy Trophy are now open! This is our last league racing event in the season, just rock up and race in our J/70s.

This rock up and race style of event means that you don't need your own boat just build a team, enter, and race. There will be a maximum of 12 teams, racing in 6 boats. The racing is short and sharp, with teams changing over between races. There will be Umpires on the course so all penalty decisions will be made in real time.

On Saturday evening, come and join in our famous Trafalgar Night at a heavily discounted price. You can visit scm.royal-southern.co.uk to book.

The 2024 British Keelboat League final was so close that even by the last race around six teams were still in with a chance of taking the title! Huge congratulations to the Waldringfield Wasps and a massive thank you to all of the teams for making it such a brilliant championship, along with our hosts Royal Southern Yacht Club and the volunteers who helped to make it happen!
