🥔 Crisps 🥔

Crisps, have always been on the radar for adding to the menu choices. Starbucks crisps are usually high in salt and fattening.. however, we’ve been considering making our own crisps and flavouring lightly.

Party Bags

I know in my home, we have a box of small plastic toys that we have accumulated from birthday parties. Of course my children love them but they don’t comprehend my frustration, which is threefold. Firstly most of them are choke hazard for the younger siblings. Secondly they give me a headache when it comes to tidying up (as they don’t last long due to breakages) and lastly, and most importantly, they are a massive environ no-no!

So let’s switch what we give out at parties to sustainable eco-friendly items. We love the idea of giving gift vouchers, however small the amount or maybe crafty activities from .twist, with a treat bag from a responsibly sourced company like

What is the perfect weekend?

For me a Saturday is all about getting jobs done around the house (cleaning, gardening, DIY, homework, clothes washing) Whilst Sunday is a reset, rest day, thinking about the coming week ahead.

Pegs

On each of our food bags that are personalised we attach the stars with a mini peg. These can be reused at home for several different things. For example, hanging a photo or a momento, to hold important paperwork together or even in your garden as a plant label!

We pride ourselves here at to provide compostable packaging, or at least recyclable where we cant achieve this. But we also promote reusable products as much as possible.

Catering

It’s really easy to buy things from multiple packets and empty them onto plates, not thinking about the huge amount of packaging just used.

Our top tips:
1. Buy loose vegetables for your crudités and cut them yourself, it seems more time-consuming, but they do taste better this way.
2. Get cheese from the counter at your supermarket, which comes wrapped in much smaller amounts of packaging and some stores are now switching to compostable wrapping.
3. This option also works with deli meats.
4. Buy olives from larger jars, rather than a plastic container. You can marinate your own by simply adding some herbs and Olive Oil.
5. If possible, try to buy in bulk to reduce the packaging amounts.

Straws!

One of the first things that started the plastic free change ✊ Single-use plastic straws, cotton buds and drink stirrers have been banned in England since October 2020 and we couldn’t be more prouder of this initiative! 🙌
