Hope has been there for people in Middlesbrough since 1995, providing opportunities for learning, access to technology, careers advice, volunteering opportunities and support.

Their aim is to reduce disadvantage, loneliness and isolation and help people recognise their potential – because they matter. With Hope’s help many local people have gained skills and qualifications, become volunteers, found employment and made friends.

Not only that but it’s a warm space too!

They also take donations of electrical goods, laptops and mobile phones. These are then refurbished and passed onto people who need them most.

We had a brilliant presentation from our very own fire safety expert Mark Foxton. He gave us an interactive lesson about fire extinguishers and panels in the workplace. If you’re a business owner who has their own property it’s a legal requirement that you have fire extinguishers and that you get them regularly calibrated. Mark and his company Shoreline Fire & Security service fire panels and extinguishers and also do fire risk assessments.
