Fondly remembered 🙂

Today is the funeral of Ruth Maddox, Ruth played Gladys Pugh in the comedy Hi de Hi which was filmed between 1980 - 1988 with the last episode aired in January 1988, 35 years ago next week, Dovercourt was the destination for the filming at Warners next door to Dovercourt Holiday park, set in the late 50s and early 60s it explored the comedic antics of holiday staff on a package holiday location, many of the cast stayed at the Cliff Hotel overlooking the promenade at Dovercourt, it’s well worth digging out old episodes for a real insight into Holidaying in the 60s RIP Ruth.
