Due to internal changes and restructuring, we are seeking enthusiastic individuals to join our Hastings Centre team and contribute to our continued success.
Position 1
Facilities Team Leader (30 hours/week)
This is a key team role directly working on, and overseeing, the day-to-day event support and the Hastings Centre premises. Hastings Centre Trading Ltd has four departments: coffee shop, room hire, catering and car park.
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the facilities team; carrying out maintenance and repairs, to ensure safe and uninterrupted operation of all facilities, including buildings, equipment, and utilities; guaranteeing that facilities are prepared for events in accordance with client requirements; maintaining excellent standards of cleanliness and hygiene; managing the car park effectively; and upholding all health and safety requirements.
For strong candidates there could be flexibility to negotiate the number of working hours.
Position 2
Facilities Assistant (7.5 hours/week and with opportunities for overtime)
This is an essential team role directly working on the day-to-day running of the Hastings Centre building/grounds, supplying all aspects of event set-up/pack-down within the Hastings Centre for the needs of our clients and their events.
The role includes the responsibility for ensuring that hire spaces and public areas of the Hastings Centre are prepared for events in accordance with client requirements, as well as ensuring that the facilities are maintained in excellent condition and are safe. In addition, car park duties, internal and external cleaning tasks and compliance with all current health and safety requirements will be required.
Initially we are looking to fill 7.5 hours per week with opportunities for additional overtime. In the future there may be scope to increase the contracted hours for the right candidate.

Green Christmas Update

With everyone's incredible support we have managed to surpass our target and restore 104,039 trees in areas of deforestation through our partner Eden Reforestation Projects!

This campaign has been running for five years and with the success of 2023 we have now managed to restore over 290,000 trees!

Hastings Centre will be closed from Friday 22 December at 12pm. We will reopen on Tuesday 2 January at 9am. During the Christmas period, we will donate all car park payments put into our machines to our charity of the year Hastings & Rother Samaritans.
From all of us at HC, we want to wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

We will be closing for holidays between Monday 25th and reopening the 3rd January. Our last day before we close for Christmas is Friday 22nd December.

If you are need, or think you will be in need of an emergency food parcel, please do not hesitate to request a food voucher. This time of year is so hard, and you should not have to suffer, please remember we are here to help.

You can request a food voucher with any local authorities you use, such as health visitor, school, nursery, citizens advice etc.

We understand that it can feel daunting visiting us, but we have a group of lovely, warm and welcoming volunteers who are here to help you navigate through this challenging time. You are not alone. If you would like to message us before your visit we can help calm any anxieties you may feel about coming by.

Once you arrive, you’ll hand over your voucher, and be welcomed with tea/coffee and some cakes/biscuits in a warm room whilst you wait for your parcel. Our volunteers will come and chat to you, and be a listening ear if needed.

Here at Hastings Foodbank, we consider you our neighbours, and whilst we fight for a future without the need of foodbanks, we welcome you into our home with open arms 💚
