One of my commissions this week was to meet Wrex the Dragon, Wrexham AFC’s mascot, who unveiled The Lucky Dragon (Y Ddraig Lwcus)’, a Welsh-English bilingual children’s book created in partnership with multilingual children’s publisher, NABU and tech company, HP to celebrate World Book Day yesterday.

A great shoot with Rachel Lugo of The Real Housewives of Cheshire for Great British Racing and Oliver Greenall of Greenall Guerriero Racing at the stunning Stockton Hall Farm in Malpas, Cheshire.

My clients required a 'behind the scenes' selection of images to be distributed to the national media ahead of National Racehorse Week. Which will see yards across the UK being open for visits to members of the public.

What a night for Wrexham AFC and the city!

This time, I was commissioned by Wrexham County Borough Council to capture the open to bus parade as the Hollywood owners Ryan Reynolds & Rob McElhenney brought joy to the streets of Wrexham.

Being given a blank canvas brief from a client is amazing, but also daunting - After scouring Google street view of the parade route, I found an ideal vantage point, located in the city centre and would allow me to capture a unique angle. Assuming it belonged to a shop below, I asked about the possibilty of photographing from the window, only to be told it was a private flat...

I managed to find the door to the flat.
Only to find the intercom buzzer broken...

I thought, if someone was home, perhaps they would be looking out of the window. And sure enough, as lady luck would have it, they were!

Waving like a madman, I caught the owners attention, who pointed to the door downstairs. Meeting her at the door, she explained she wasn't keen on the idea, so with using my experience negotiating portraits of awkward subjects and gaining exclusive access to venues as a former press photographer, she eventually agreed.

Would another photographer have managed to do the research? Be polite and persuasive?

This client trusted me implicitly and got the results 👌🏻🏆

Wrexham AFC secure promotion back to the football league with a movie style script of coming back from behind to beat Boreham Wood 3-1.

The Cross of Wales, containing splinters of the cross Jesus was allegedly crucified on, is blessed by the Archbishop of Wales, Andrew John ahead of the cross leading the coronation procession of King Charles III.

The light inside Chester Cathedral is amazing, so I positioned Duncan to give a relaxed yet ethereal feel, depicting his role whilst holding a crown of thorns.
