Herefordshire Art Week is a nine day art trail open to all. Artists, craftmakers and creative businesses open their studios everyday. Galleries put on special events, whilst groups get together to put on one-off exhibitions, in a wonderful mix of interesting venues. Hay on Wye has four very unique venues on the map at Larchwood Studio, Oil and Oak, Hay Castle and Ty Powys.
The vision for h.Art is to: Offer personal life enhancing experiences through art, whilst stimulating a vibrant local economy.

What better place to do this than in Hay?!
So what's happening at Larchwood this year?

ARTISTS
Following her hugely successful 2023 exhibition Retrospective at Larchwood Studio, Maureen Richardson returns to wow us all for H Art 2024 . . . and this time she's with friends! Maureen is joined by Karlin Rushbrooke, Kate Kato, Nicola Hopwood, Rowan Mconegal, Lauren Youngs, Amber Rose Owen, Lisa Grigsby and Victoria Katharine. A fine line-up of nine artists working across a wealth of mediums.
The artists will be showing paper-making, up-cycling, large oil paintings, beautiful ceramic pieces, Japanese woodblock printmaking, blown glass sculpture, floral art and stained glass. They will also offer workshops, talks and demonstrations throughout the week. All set amidst the trees here at the very beautiful Larchwood Studio.

DINING
The exhibition will be coupled with a sophisticated Licensed Restaurant from local events company DISH by A Rule of Tum. "From humble beginnings, at A Rule of Tum we slowly expanded to open restaurants, launch a food festival, and deliver on our mantra of curating extraordinary food experiences in remarkable spaces. Dish is a return to our roots of creating incredible events and gatherings, reimagined, with new energy and a decade’s worth of experience in the industry.
Our h.Art pop-up restaurant will be focused on fresh seasonal ingredients, offering a Mediterranean-inspired menu. Whether you're stopping for a local beer and a simple but delicious snack, or settling in for the evening to enjoy a bottle of wine and a selection of sharing plates with friends, we're on hand to keep you nourished and make you feel at home." Their Larchwood eatery will be open daily from 10am till early evening. No need to book.

WELLNESS
PLUS if all the fun of the art, culture, eating and drinking leaves you in need of a little tlc then the Larchwood Practitioners are all on hand all week to do just that! Yoga and pilates classes are running as usual, just relocated from the studio to a semi-alfresco setting a short stroll from the woods. The Soul Shack (Hannah) and Awaken Your Sole (Hayley) set up their wellness bell-tents in the woods for the week offering pre-booked massage, Indian head massage and reflexology appointments from fifteen-minutes up to ninety-minutes.

S O B R E M E S A - HAY FESTIVAL AT LARCHWOOD

Larchwood Studio will be home to our faves Trigg Food serving up brekkies and suppers for the duration of the festival. In a beautiful pairing alongside Billy and Emma Trigg will be the bar, stocked and run by the awesome Adrian and Alys of .drinks who grow soft fruit for cider making right here at the farm.

Adrian and Alys have also isolated their own unique farmhouse yeast from Racquety Farm itself and it has been identified by the National Collection of Yeast Cultures - how cool is that?!

The bar will be open from 5pm on the 24 26 27 30 and 31 May

PLEASE NOTE: Larchwood Studio is taken over for private functions on the evenings of the 25 May and the 1 June so we will be closed then.

Our regular daily yoga classes taught by our brilliant community of Larchwood practitioners relocates to the main Hay Festival site for the ten days from the 24th May - 2nd June inclusive. Each daily class is 8am - 9am and you can book directly through Hay Festival online programme.

T R I G G F O O D - HAY FESTIVAL AT LARCHWOOD

Larchwood Studio will be home to our faves, Trigg Food for the duration of the Hay Festival serving breakfast everyday from the 24 May to the 2 June and supper on the 24 26 27 30 and 31 May.

The Triggs source great produce locally, they’ll be using the likes of Black Mountain Roast , Small Farms Butchers , Alex Gooch artisan baker and Primrose Farm to name a few 💚

Great food and good vibes always . . . it’s going to be a banging week!

The bar will also be open on the 24 26 27 30 and 31 May and the tunes will most definitely be on point.

T H E S O U L S H A C K - HAY FESTIVAL WELLNESS AT LARCHWOOD

From the 25 May to the 2 June Larchwood woodland will be home to .soul.shack bell-tent: holistic massage to soothe the body, quiet the mind and help you find some space....

Hannah from The Soul Shack blends essential oils and massage techniques to create a holistic massage that works with your body, not against it.

Whether it’s sore legs from walking, back trouble from camping, lack of sleep, a muddled brain, a need for relaxation, none or all of the above, Hannah will be working from a beautiful bell tent onsite to sooth the body, quiet the mind and help you find some space.

This comforting workshop is held in the beautiful Larchwood Studio and is a deeply relaxing way to spend your Sunday morning.

Two hours of yin yoga to let go of the week's stresses, with your poses assisted by hands on adjustments from Graham, based on Thai yoga massage and pressure points.
