To all my loyal customers and clients.... I have decided it is the right time to put the lens cap on this part of my Business for good. (My stock images, prints and fine artwork will continue).

Running a business is tough enough, but when you're running a business alongside a full time job the pressures to find time to do everything takes the enjoyment out of things somewhat. Managing accounts, promotions and marketing, maintaining websites and social media, returning enquiries, selling artwork, making bookings, dealing with breaches of intellectual property rights is a job in itself !

Everyone is burdened with the cost of living right now and small business are no exception; I have been hit with price increases that can no longer offer the customer competitive rates. Websites, domain names and business email accounts, insurances to cover equipment, locations and the public; servicing cameras and lenses, software and editing tools along with fees for professional accreditation are all hidden costs that I just can't pass on to clients - it's just not financial viable.

There are plenty of amateur photographers and all those with a cameraphone who are looking to offer you cut price images - well, don't even get me started on them and how they impact on those who have put years into studying and perfecting their craft!

On a more positive note...this part of my life has allowed me to meet some amazing people including clients that have become lifelong friends. I've photographed truly beautiful horses, been in the company of greats, had my work published, been on the most beautiful locations, cried and laughed making amazing memories for myself and others that will be cherished forever. I thank you.

Dare I say it, but it feels like Summer has arrived with beautiful warm sunny evenings to enjoy. I only have a few bookings available in July, if you are thinking about or are interested in capturing some sun kissed photos of your horse (or the both of you) then do get in touch.

In the horsey world, I often hear the phrase 'cracking pony', and this one is certainly no exception.

I usually prefer my subjects to be posing like cover models, but letting off steam is also fine by me when they look this handsome doing it !

The cutting room floor....Usually an image like this wouldn't make the cut; but, something just kept drawing me in. I kept hovering over the delete button but the warmth and emotion conveyed by these two beautiful horses, Panther and Zarkandar stopped me.

A pony called 'Google'.. what a striking lad he is. The preparation that went into this boy by his owner was fantastic, he was white as white could be.

It was an absolute pleasure to capture this beautiful portrait. He really has set the bar in terms of handsomeness.

I thought I’d do a ‘live’ unpacking of a photo print that was ordered directly from a client gallery the day before yesterday.... Honestly, I am blown away with the quality and service of Loxley Colour fulfilling this client printing.

This was ordered the day before yesterday and arrived via DPD this morning, without any compromise to quality.... and very securely I might add (as you’ll see 🤩)
